very true, I've never seen TCFC, but I guess people may be more eager to buy that than TC because TC is so readily available in syndication, so people might not be so "I have to get this the day it comes out" like they are with a show that they like buy haven't seen in over a decade

I got test discs for "TCFC" a few weeks back, and the episodes seemed edited at around 22 minutes. Hopefully the final product doesn't have edited episodes. Our reviewer for this set will get the final product very soon, and we shall see.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, I remember watching TCFC in the original run, and it's a good show, I haven't seen it since it went off the air, probably that way with alot of people close to my age that have seen it, they want to see it again, they figure TC can wait cause it will probably always be readily available in syndication and on DVD

I want to say "better than nothing" but then again it ticks me off- how hard is it to access the uncut version as opposed to the cut one?

Apparently a lot of A-holes are in charge of transfering our favorite shows to dvd.

Oh gosh I hope they're uncut, I hate that. :mad:

If the final product is edited, then I'm assuming they used the syndication prints because the show did air in first run syndication for a season or two towards the end of the show's run. So, maybe they didn't use the unedited ABC version for season one.

The Looney Tunes Golden Collection, Volume 2.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to get it next Tuesday. I don't have much money and there are a lot of DVDs that are must-haves for me compared to it (Friends: Season 8, Seinfeld), so I'll probably have to ask for it for Christmas.

Rhino has said the final product of Too Close... will consist of:

- 19 original uncut episodes -- over seven hours of entertainment!
- Exclusive special features include cast member commentary and photo gallery.
- Sitcoms on DVD generate huge retail sales!
- National TV support on TV Land and National Cable, plus extensive national print campaign.
- Color/approximately 455 minutes.


It clearly says uncut, so hopefully they are right about that. Because the test discs seemed edited because the episodes were 22 minutes. Also, the test discs I have, have no special features...

I guess it's safe to assume the episodes on the final product are complete. I did the math:

19 eps X 22 min. = 418

19 eps X 24 min. = 456

I just read a review at Amazon.com and the reviewer said that the episodes are ALL sliced up syndication prints. Either this person doesn't know what he's talking about or Rhino told a bold faced lie about the episodes being uncut. I guess I'll just have to wait and see when my DVD is delivered today.

So far I've gotten Three's Company and Doctor Who...nothing else released on the 2nd really interests me.

They are. :( In 1980, an average sitcom had a running time of 23:30-25 minutes.

It's definitely false advertising, it can't be the complete first season if it's not uncut :(
