He made an appearance on the BET awards with Ernest Thomas {Raj} about a month ago. Before that he was on former child stars, "Where are they now" over a year ago. To my understanding, he is part owner of a graphic company.

Is he good friends with Ralph Carter of Good Times?

I couldn't tell you that? Why Ralph Carter of all people? I don't know if they ever met, but I'm sure they did.

I was thinking they were the same age for some reason.

They are about a year apart. Go to IMDB.com. Bring their names up, and it will show you their dob. Ironically, I used to get these two mixed up when I was a kid.

There was an article that stated he was in the same school as Valerie Bertinelli. Is there any truth to that?

I thought Haywood Nelson did a very good job as the good natured but timid Dwayne. Another actor may not have pulled it off.

Thas true- AND thats a good way to put it too- Because His part was scary- put not any way feminine- but still timid- you vertainly can't pull that off today without making the character feminine in some way-
I think Haywood Nelson did a FANTASTIC job on there man-
I can beleive he n Ralph Carter are friends- I heard both were gay- at least Haywood- I dont know where- I think there's another ralph carter-whos big in the gay community- maybe he was mistaken-as well as with Haywood- dunno- ANY WAYS- that Dwayne character is the funniest!!!

I had never heard that Haywood was gay. What was your source of this information?

Haywood Nelson is not gay. He's been married 4 times to women and has 3 children. I've never heard anything about him being gay however gays seem to like him. He's friends with Ralph Carter and even auditioned for the role of Michael on Good Times. He almost got it but the role ended up going to Ralph Carter. Haywood has been in showbiz a very long time and seems to be friends with a lot of people like Todd Bridges, Lawrence Hilton Jacob's, and other 70's & 80's stars.
