View Full Version : Jerry Mathers 1960s record LP???
Um, gee I kinda have a question for you guys out there.
Jerry Mathers had a swell album back in the 60s; me and the guy were kinda’ wonderin’ if any knows were a fella could get a copy?
It sure would be swell to get a copy … It would be really neat!
Now don’t be a wise guy and leave any goofy comments like Eddie would.
Because, you don’t wanna be a rat like Eddie!
Gee thanks allot,
-JD :tiphat:
duluthduke 10-27-2004, 04:17 PM After LITB ended Jerry Mathers formed a group called "Beaver and the Trappers." Richard Correll from the show was also in it. As a record dealer I have only seen a 45 by them, not an LP. Also they are very hard to get. I'm sure not very many were sold as their voices were awful! The best thing I would recommend would be to search eBay. :)
duluthduke 10-27-2004, 04:26 PM I would like to add that it is nice to see someone actually talking about LITB on this board for a change too! :D
HaskellGirl 10-27-2004, 08:05 PM I have to add that its very nice to see someone talking about LITB as well!!! :D
I remember once listening to a snippet of "Wind-up toy" online...not sure what happened to that. I think the soundbyte was removed or something. I can't remember how it went, something like "Wind-up toy, wind-up toy....(something something)...a real boy". It was pretty funny.
In one episode of The New Leave it to Beaver, Jerry actually sings one of his old Beaver and the Trapper songs, called "Happiness Is". Most of the song isn't really singing singing, its more like talk-singing. It wasn't BAD....;)
duluthduke 10-27-2004, 08:20 PM You can listen to it on leaveittobeaver.org. I'll post the link below. Their voices were just awful!

duluthduke 10-27-2004, 08:50 PM Yeah all these fighting kids have gotten pretty annoying!
Jack1000 10-27-2004, 10:34 PM I believe that Beaver formed his band in 1962, when the show was in its last season.

duluthduke 10-27-2004, 10:39 PM If he had it during the show, it's funny they didn't work it into one of the episodes! Maybe they thought his voice would hurt the ratings! :D
HaskellGirl 10-28-2004, 08:35 AM Jerry sang a few times on the show...not with a band of course, but just by himself. I remember him singing "She'll be coming round the mountain" using Wally's tennis racket as a guitar (and when he sang on TNLITB, he was playing a real guitar) and he was singing in a few other eps. Of course, this was before he went through puberty, but I thought he sang pretty good for a kid.
1954Boomer 10-28-2004, 09:29 AM Hey jpd,
I did a quick search on EBAY, in the music category, and got one hit on Jerry Mathers. There is an album up for bid right now. It appears to have a number of "garage band" groups on it, including ""Beaver and the Trappers."

Here is another interesting link of possible interest. Note that it doesn't appear to have any links where you can purchase that record, but is a fun link nontheless.

GOOD LUCK!!!

I actually heard "Wind-up Toy" on the radio awhile back. They were doing a special on TV stars doing records. Not exactly Elvis but still interesting to hear though.
I myself like Joe Ross ( Car 54's Gunther Toody ) doing a song about his catch phrase "Oohh Oohh" !! Inronic thing about that was that he made that song several years after Car 54 was cancelled.
