I especially like the "Lonesome Jubilee" songs Paper In Fire and Cherry Bomb, plus Wild Night, which features one of my fave artists: MeShell Ndegeocello
Of the songs on the list, I have to go with "Peaceful World." But there are two songs not on your list I consider my favorites: "Rain On The Scarecrow" and "To Washington."

Big oversight on my part, I really like Rain On The Scarecrow too.

I saw John Cougar Mellencamp (as he was labeled at that time) back in 1983 at Radio City Music Hall on the Uh-huh tour.
(before Scarecrow)
Easily one of the best concerts I ever saw.

Yep, definitely underrated. You really realize it when you're listening to all the songs back to back on this collection. The music rocks and he's a good songwriter too. I can't say enough how great I think "Paper In Fire" is. Definitely, buy the cd.

The program, "Live By Request" on the A&E cable network, will feature Mellencamp and his band performing songs at Bloomington's Buskirk-Chumley Theatre.
Mellencamp, who lives just outside Bloomington, recently released a greatest hits album.
Viewers will be able to request songs by phone and over the Internet. The show will air from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. EST.
