Does anyone remember the really cool N@N Brady Bunch marathon in 1995 that was a week long abnd had on the Variety Hour, Brady brides, metc, when the first Brady Bunch movie came out? I remember thinking that marathon was really cool. I also liked the N@N spoof of the Civil War called: Brady, an American Chronicle. I remember I taped it like 10 times when I went on vacation cuz I didn't know if it would be something different.

I remember that marathon. It was very well done. I still loved the Brady Bunch in those days, it was only after I read the mistake-filled Growing Up Brady book by Barry Williams that I began to hate the Brady Bunch.

Yes, absolutely remember it...and it was very well done! Brady:An American Chronicle was hysterical! For anyone who missed it, make sure you go out of your way to catch it if it ever airs again...it was done in the style of Ken Burns' wonderful documentaries on Baseball, The Civil War, etc...

The Brady chronicles featured such "chapters" as "The Battle of Clark Tyson". I loved the "phychologist" who talked about how, when Marcia got braces, Mike and Carol went out of their way to tell Marcia that "Looks don't matter". Then, when Jan has a crush on Clark Tyson, the psychologist points out that, all of a sudden, Mike and Carol realize that "looks really do matter". And so they dress Jan up real pretty in order to attract Clark. And, since Clark falls for her like a ton of bricks when he sees her all made up, Jan now realizes that "By golly, it IS looks that are important, not what kind of person you are", which contradicts Mike and Carol's advice to Marcia about her braces.

Another "chapter" dealt with Cindy being allowed to ask only ONE parent to the school play in which she was to play the fairy princess...they had some old guy on there saying "...but nobody asks the REAL questions...namely, 'What sort of school IS this? What sort of pea-pickers would give each child only ONE TICKET EACH?'"

It was a fabulous special!! I have it on tape (somewhere)...now I gotta look for it and watch it again!

If you were a REAL fan of the Brady Bunch, one book wouldn't make you hate them. In fact, I think every post you've made here is about GUB. I bet you've spent hundreds of hours reading GUB multiple times just looking for mistakes so you could run here and complain like a five year-old. IMHO, you need a life. You're obsessing over this book and always complaining. If you think the book is so bad, why don't you write your own? Then WE can sit here and count all of the errors YOU make...

AMEN!
Why is this guy obssessing about this book? And why in so many different posts? Is it now required for celebrities to remember every dopey detail from situations that occurred some 30-odd years ago? Good grief, I can't even recall what I had for lunch yesterday!

Give it rest!

oh oh, I made a mistake in the spelling of "obsessing." Shall I expect a barrage of complaints now?

At least two dozen threads have been started on the topic of mistakes in GUB. All it really proves is that Barry Williams is human and some people don't have a life!

Bump for my (personal) discovery of An American Chronicle on youtube tonight! I saw this when it originally aired in '95 and that was the one and only time. Throughout the years I've thought about it occasionally and would randomly search for it online (never realizing what the name of the show was). Never being able to find it, I started to think I was just imagining its existence....

The voice of the narrator belongs to George Page, one of my favorite documentary voices of all time.
