It doesn't quite say, so I can keep up my "positive" attitude that we didn't sink for the 4th week in a row. Last week we got 6.2 million. Based on what they say here, we could have done better, but could have done worse. I don't know.

Here it is:

Among adults 18-49, FOX had a strong 7.8 rating, but ABC also did well in the key demographic, earning a 5.8 rating. CBS stayed third with a 3.2 rating, better than the 3.0 for NBC or The WB's 1.0 rating.

FOX began the night on top with a combination of NFL-postgame and World Series coverage doing an 11.4/19. CBS started in second for the 7 p.m. hour with the 9.8/16 for "60 Minutes." "Dateline NBC" had a 4.7/8, beating ABC's "America's Funniest Home Videos" in ratings, though not in total viewers. The WB's "Steve Harvey's Big Time" made barely any impression.

At 8 p.m. the World Series coverage improved to a 15.1/22 for FOX, well ahead of the 9.9/14 for CBS' "Cold Case." ABC improved to an 8.5/13 with "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," which more than doubled the audience for NBC's "American Dreams." On The WB, a repeat of "Jack & Bobby" fooled a number of "Charmed" fans into doing a 1.9/3.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

But it still states that Cold Case and Extreme Makeover both more than doubled us. And Dateline possibly got 50% more viewers. I hope Jeff Zucker still likes us. I don't see why not, the show is still as great as it's been since we first started airing it.

Peace.

Well, aside from the no doubt very surprised folks at ABC, nobody can expect regular shows to hold up against baseball. If the ratings go down during the World Series there is probably no reason to worry:

Over at NBC, the combination of Dateline (HH: 3, 4.7/ 8; A18-49: #4, 2.0/ 5), American Dreams (HH: #4, 4.2/ 6; A18-49: #4, 2.2/ 5), Law & Order: Criminal Intent (HH: #3, 8.0/12; A18-49: #3, 3.8/ 9) and Crossing Jordan (HH: #2, 8.0/13; A18-49: #3, 4.1/ 9) were all below average because of baseball.

If viewers continue to erode, however, we may have a bit of a problem.

I don't know where you get your info, but keep it coming. At least we got 6 million, lower than last week at 6.2 million, but NOT below 6.
Maybe that will be our bottom and we can rise from here.
I agree, continued eroding might threaten us. But for now and for this week, I feel a little better.

Now, on to next week. There is a chance baseball will be over by then, but I don't wish to shoo-shoo our national pastime. And what would NBC think if baseball was gone and we lost viewers again?

November and the sweeps are coming upon us. Might be a make or break time of the year for us.
I sadly remember last year when we got cut back near this time.
Hopefully that won't happen this time.

I would still sort of like Dateline to NOT pull such high numbers compared to us. I could just see NBC extending it back to 2 hours and moving or replacing us.
Fear, I know (hopefully unfounded), but it still haunts me at times.

Peace.

I got that from Marc Berman's Programming Insider over at mediaweek.com (http://www.mediaweek.com) . The information you posted was from Zap2it, right? I have found that by reading both you get a better picture of what is going on. It would be nice, though, if The Futon Critic still had those nifty charts for every show.

I couldn't agree more, seeing from different angles makes for a better view.

I just hope the "other" people here don't see it as a lack of support. I will leave it up to them to post what, who and etc. they like to see on the show while I keep track of the numbers that will inevitably keep or take us off the air. I don't want to wake up one day with AD off the air and say "what happened, we were a great show?" Happened with Boom Town, not going to happen again.

The fact we "only" lost about 200,000 viewers is supposed to keep me happy until this week. I guess I would rather have that than another million.

But when is the bleeding going to stop?

Peace.

Just keep your hopes up baseball won't be happening this Sunday. Could be over by tomorrow. My hubby wants a 7 game series (my son too), but let's hope he's wrong!!!!

Peace.

Okay, baseball is over. It is football season, and there are no games on Sunday nights (well, okay, some, but not important ones).

So gimme back my 9 million AD viewers, okay?

Peace.
