It's a shame this TV series has become rather obscure. When people think of Mission Impossible now they are more likely to think of the Tom Cruise films which have almost nothing to do with the TV show. The series was much better and one of the best espionage series and dramas of its era.

This show rocked!
I loved it when it was coming on back then.

The movies ,all of them sucked!

Agree. An all-time favorite series of mine, big fan from the start when this guy was in charge (too bad he never did anything else)...

I guess I must have missed that period the only one I can remember being in charge was Peter Graves.

By the way did you know Peter Graves and James Arness are brothers!

Yep. Little more about Hill...
Served in the US Navy. Founding member of "the Actor's Studio" quit Mission Impossible after one season because he refused to work on Saturday, Jewish Sabbath. When he retired from his role as District Attorney Adam Schiff on Law & Order in 2000, he was the last remaining original cast member.

Those Tom Cruise movies were stupid. The TV show is way better.

I agree 100 %
The movies stank pretty bad!

I hate it when they try to do a re-make and change things.
Just like they did with Knight Rider!

Knight Rider was not and never will a Ford in my mind!

Uh, you're being sarcastic, right? Steven Hill played D.A. Schiff on Law & Order for 10 years.

I liked the first year's eps with Steven Hill the best. Nothing against Peter Graves, but I thought that the series became a little more bland after the second season. Hill's Briggs character seemed a little more cerebral and more morally ambiguous than Phelps.
