Ok maybe it is because I love "natural" (er, supernatural) disasters. Maybe it is because I am a meteorology student...but in the 15 years of watching UM, I have only seen this story once. FUnny because, A-it was only recently that I saw it and B-I have seen almost every other case at least twice sometimes 3 or 300 times. Anyway....here is a link to the transcript from the broadcast:

Does anyone have any more information on this? Did this fascinate anyone else? Did anyone else live in the Oakville/Seattle area during this time and experience this bizarre phenomena/govt conspiracy?

This story is actually on the UFO DVD under the title "The Blob".
Note: We should all be buying these DVD's cuz if they're successful UM just might get another day on the air (look what happened to "Family Guy".) :)

As far as the blob, I'm not into politics and don't want to start any debates here...
If I recall correctly they said the goo was at one point alive or contained blood cells. Whether its some form of human waste or a test run for germ warfare I couldn't tell you...but some big-wig somewhere is up to no good and has some explaining to do. I just don't believe it to be a natural phenomenon otherwise there would be other cases of toxic jellyfish flying 300 miles through the air. Why would a bunch of unmarked helicoptors be interested in jellyfish?:confused:

i am actually very intrigued by this story as well. I am mostly a murder/missing/personal mystery fan, however this blob thing really caught my attention. Explaining more on what morty had to say, this is what I know:

This segment was actually put on the UFOs dvd (strange that it was, i was thinking more legend), so if u wanna watch it forever, and like ufo segments, u can purchase it (realize ur getting 25 other stories though, nothing like the rain story). Unfortunately, there was never an update to this segment. Usually, unusual substances pouring from the sky is pointed at the military, and in this case they were again also pointed at first. If you remember, the US military told the town of Oakville (which is right next to Mt. St. Helens, and in more recent events, the volcano is spewing ash and smoke, and it would suck to see whats raining down on the town rite now) that the blobby substances were a school of jellyfish that was blown up by bomb testing in the pacific ocean, hundreds of miles away, and the jellyfish remains were being rained down in the form of this substance...

Of course, this is preposterous to the town, and to most of all the viewers, including me, and obviously the military was up to something else that no one could possibly figure out. The substance that rained down also made many people sick, and it made the town wonder if the military was testing some type of chemical warfare substance on the village that an enemy country or terrorists could use on American land (keep in mind this happened BEFORE sept. 11). Even though the issue was brought up with the military, they never admitted anything to the public and to the town of Oakville, and it remains a mystery as to whether Oakville was a testing town for the US military. Military testing on American soil and on human beings is also strictly prohibited, but it seems this is ultimately the only thing this mystery could possibly lead to. They also do bring up some out of this world substance from another planet, but as we all know, that is also totally unbelievable, however slightly possible.

Another strange fact about this substance is that it contained some sort of eukaryotic cell, which means that there was a living organism inside the blobs. The evidence of this wasn't explained very well in the UM segment, however many thought it was human feces being dumped over Oakville. This is also kind of unbelievable, because according to the Oakville residents, this raining happened three or four times, and I dont think planes would keep dumping **** over the same town, in the EXACT same place, over and over. Plus, it would look like ****, not like weird green blobs. Its just not possible. I seriously think it has to do with some kind of military testing, maybe with chemical or biological warfare. That would explain why it happened over a period of time on certain days. I am not sure if this has happened again in Oakville, or anywhere else in the world, and haven't heard anything, but that is the main story and my thoughts on what happened. I personally loved this mystery and I would also like to know more information if anyone has anything else that they know for sure.
