You know that commercial for Dodge where the cocky, sarcastic, PO'd wife, or whatever she is supposed to be, comes storming out of the house to tell her husband that he is an ass, but catches herself? I think that commercial is in very, very bad taste. It seems like somewhat of a threshold commercial as to what we will put up with. The old battle of the sexes joke is a long running joke. This one went to far and jolts my sensitivity and my nerves everytime I see it.

I was kind of surprised, they made it pretty obvious she was about to call him an "ass" or something to that nature. I didn't think much of it other than that.

It's a horrible stereotype that's all over TV.

Men are dumb and selfish, but occasionally we do something right as not to piss off the wife. We get it.

No point in me trying to give you the script. You'd need to see it to have an opinion. It is being played during the baseball games. I just saw it a few minutes ago once again during the Cardinals and Astros game. I guess it's being played a lot all over TV. Keep an eye out for it. It's a Dodge Truck commercial.

I haven't seen it but I respect my husband :)

Her husband buys himself a motorcycle, and puts it in the back of his truck. His wife starts to call him an ass...or worse, then she sees an antique table that he bought for her in the back seat and gets all sweet.

I think, once again, that you are taking it too seriously. BUT that is just my opinion. There is no fact to back it up.

I can think of one much worse than that. It's that Capital One spot with the Coast Guard trying to rescue that guy lying on the beach of a tropical island with S.O.S. spelled out in rocks or coconuts or something, and then he springs up and laughs in their faces, while his wife does the same off in the bushes. I swear, I just want to smash that guys head in!

Hey, has anybody ever heard of the "Commericals I Hate" website?

The worst commercial I've ever seen has been reruning on MTV. This family is having dinner and everyone is talking and having a great time when all off a sudden, the grandfather drops to the floor and starts having a heart attack. Everyone starts to panic, the women begin to cry, and his wife is by his side with this huge look of sadness in her face. The grandfather begins to close his eyes and tells his wife "I'll always love you." and falls to the ground. The wife begins to cry while she struggles to get his pils and his daughter then goes to the phone to call 911, but the grandfather gets up and starts to laugh. Everyone is really confused right now and he says "You all have just been punk'd." The wife was so disgusted with him and walk away, and the rest of the family just sits there confused.

I haven't seen this ad in a while but there was this one commercial during the summer where some guy singing, "Don't shake the can." and then you see people shaking these soda cans and shaking their booties. I hate it and I am glad it has apparently run its course.

There are commercials that can bother people, yes. But the point of the commercial was humor. It was to poke fun at stuff like that. TV (ecspecially TV ) always pokes fun at things such as funny things about a husband and wife's relationship. Even if you thought it was awful it was made to give people a chuckle, not to offend you or anyone else. What's the point of living if you just don't give a **** about anything? Well what's the point of living if you can't laugh at something once in a while? Just my opinion. :)

I am Him was making dog doo of anyone who found one particular commercial or any commercial particularly crappy or distastefu. So your example of "if you can't laugh, blah blah and so on" doesn't apply to what I was saying or what this thread is about.

Go back to my last post and see if you can answer 'no' to all of those questions.

Like that one poster who said, "It's just a commercial." Oh. I didn't know that. Thanks man! If I had know that... if I had realized that those two waggs in the commercial weren't real people I wouldn't have made a toodoo about it. Right?

Beyond that, the point is, I posted about one commercial that I thought really sucked. That doesn't mean that I can't laugh at anything and everything else that world has to offer. The bottom line is that I just get sick of people posting digs at people who post around here whenever they happen to post a thread. It just gets so old to be shat upon just for asking a GD question.

"I am Him" hasn't even posted in this thread, it was ashlee (*A TV people*) that you quoted, and all she said was that she thinks its funny when people get bent outta shape over stuff....

i do agree with you that there are some people here lately who seem to think that it is their sworn duty to harass people and start trouble... but ashlee is't one of them
