I read in an old 1982 TV Guide that when Norman Lear first contacted Sherman Hemsley in 1973 to star on All in the Family, Sherman thought that Lear was contacting him to be a cast member on Sanford and Son-lol Can you imagine that? Sherman on S&S? I don't think i could have handled Sherman Hemsley and Redd Foxx on the same show. That would have been too wild!!!!

That would have been too much laughter for me to handle.

I would have wanted to see them face to face. Does anyone know if the two ever met? I'm sure they did. They worked with many of the same people.
