anyone else going to see this?

I love Sarah Michelle Gellar, so I'm there even if it looks like a ripoff of The Ring

I saw the original Japanese version when I was in London. It scared the cr@p out of me :eek: I have no idea who that Irish girl was that was sitting next to me, but we kept jumping into each other's laps - it was that scary.

I think I'm gonna see this. Maybe I'll understand the ending better.

I am going to see it eventually. I don't know if it will be in a theater or not.

It doesn't seem to be popular at Rotten Tomatoes.

it was OKAY. but nothing extraordinary

They really hyped it as Sarah's movie, when she only appears in about 50% of it.

Jason Behr is second billed and is only in it for 10 whole minutes

Sarah said in an interview that from a technical aspect, that the film was like Brian De Palma in his early days. This makes me very interested in seeing this film.

I'll probably be seeing this tomorrow. I'm hoping its decent enough. It will be no ring though thats for sure.

I really want to see it. And Rosa Blasi is in it, which is a plus cause I like her and she's only been in like one movie ever.

That surprises me. The Japanese version was really, really good. Apart from the fact that this is a totally unnecessary remake (which we ought to be used to by now) I wonder why they gave it that bad of a rating. Maybe it's just not as scary.

a big thumbs down from me. It did have its cliched scary moments but the plot itself wasn't anything too original and the ending left too many unanswered questions. Its fun for halloween but its not entertaining like The Sixth Sense or The Ring.

the big problem with the movie is that there's too much unanswered questions. I mean, in "The Ring" there was at least some resolutions.

like for instance, what became of the husband/father who caused the evil ghosts in the first place.

Why wasn't there resolution to this? like SMG fighting the ghost (she's done it many times on Buffy)

the ending, does she die or what?

or does the director expect this movie to make tons of money and he can make a sequel, therefore he can actually go into this backstory and reasoning that was left out of this one????

and I just knew Jason Behr was going to be a dumbass and go into the house.

The head of Sony said there's a sequel is in the works as we speak. He also said he expected the movie to make $20 million in its opening weekend but was more than thrilled when it opened with $40 million.

Remember the thumping sound, when they flashed to him seeing all of those pictures of Peter? Well, that was his legs hitting the wall, after he hung himself.

ohhhhh... I was thinking that was the detective whose legs were hitting the wall, since he'd walked into the house withthe gasoline right before Jason Behr went in.

I didn't like the movie too much.

ifyou are planning on seeing, don't. it was such a ripoff of the ring (which sucked as well). especially the ending, with the mother crawling down the stairs. it sucked, everyone in the theater was laughing.

I hate horror movies period, they just make me more depressed and scared. I guess I'll never understand why anyone likes being scared. The only horror movie I ever watched was Carrie because the way they set it up it sounded like a drama to me and I like Sissy Spaceck.
