For some reason when I try to re-size a picture on Paint Shop Pro it comes out crappy-looking if you take the lock aspect ratio think..but if you put it on its so small.

Anyone know how to make them look...good?

For some reason when I put the aspect ratio thingy on i wont let me use that size..but when I take it off the pictures come out all squished.

OK, then. :) Take a screencap of the WHOLE window and post it here...I want to see exactly what's wrong...I can most likely help you get on the right path :)

This is the biggest it can come with the aspect ratio on...

If your mouse has a scroll thingy in the middle, move that scroll thing up until the title bar says 100%.

OOPS....Don't use pixel resize, use smart resize...I made a mistake there, sorry :bonk: Smart resize is the BEST...not pixel...

Yuck! I see what you mean...When you resized, did you change it from "Pixel resize" to "Smart resize"? That should fix it :)

However...If you want your pictures to look even better, you could crop off the area around the picture.

On the left side of your window (where all the tools are), it's the 5th button from the top. Your crop button looks like a lasso rope (it's the Freehand selection tool)...it has a down arrow next to it. Click on that arrow and change it to Selection (looks like a dotted square).


After you do that...Click on your picture again...Hold down Ctrl + A to select the whole picture and then hold down Ctrl + C to copy the picture. Next, hold down Ctrl + V and you'll have a new picture....close out the first picture, because you won't be able to crop it...But you can with the new picture I just told you to copy. If you followed my directions and turned on the Selection tool, your cursor would look like a crosshair with a dotted square next to it.

Look at the picture I took so you can get a good idea. After you select the area you want, hold down Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V again and you will get another new picture, but without all that unnecessary space :) Now try to resize your new cropped picture and it should look much better :D
