tylersmistress2002 10-15-2004, 01:51 PM I posted TWICE ... shhhhhhhhh... but anyway..... some ppl have absolutely NO CLASS....
I cant remember the last time I saw such ignorance....
Its one thing to voice your opinion...and quite another to be rude!
victorianscribe 10-15-2004, 02:53 PM OMG, I'm afraid to go back and check. I unleashed there last night. The stuff some people said about Freddie was literally making me sick.
hue_mee 10-15-2004, 05:55 PM I agree as well
catcopy18 10-18-2004, 09:38 PM I am usually a passive type of person but when it comes to speaking my mind concerning Freddie and/or CATM, I give it my best shot. I cannot stand to hear people put him down when he's not here to defend himself. It seems like whenever there is a forum that gives us the opportunity to talk about CATM or Freddie, there are several horribly rude creeps who love to talk him down. Some people can get really very nasty!!!! I try to speak from my heart and be civil but those people are unsympathetic and cruel. They get down-right disgusting!
It makes my heart ache to hear some of the negative remarks about him. I was very happy to read the sweet things some of you here posted in his favor.
That is the second forum I'm bowing out of because it makes me sooooo mad!!! They don't give us a chance!!!
Cheryl Harrell 10-20-2004, 06:37 PM I agree with ya'll. I can understand it if they don't like the show as not everyone is gonna like the same thing. But to be so hateful & full of malice over it? I will never understand. Freddie is rolling over in his grave. The boards are to talk about the show not be mean to Freddie & his fans...
Cheryl Harrell 10-20-2004, 08:28 PM Now they are reading our comments over here LOL! I had to write in defense of ya'll. :) Maybe they secretly like the show but won't admit it... :) We're good folks over here & don't bite. :) :)
scott cokeley 10-31-2004, 03:58 AM I just read the posts at Goodlife....I couldn't resist posting MY 2 cents if anyone wants to read it......I thaught it would be good for a MALE Chico And The Man fan to speak up. And if they don't like it..well, I better just leave it at that for now....
Cheryl Harrell 02-05-2005, 07:31 AM And they are at it again. Can't people learn to say something nice instead of hateful stuff? Sigh...
http://www.goodlifetvnetwork.com/testforum/board.php?FID=38
Really they ought to take down the forums over there cuz all people are doing over there is talking mean about Freddie. I have no problems with people having differing opinions. It's a given that some folks may not like the show. But showing hate like that is uncalled for & just upsets me... :( These are the forums where Freddie is being remembered & loved... :)
Pitooey 02-05-2005, 11:36 AM There's too many mean spirited people to try to change their minds.
We could praise Freddie and the show forever but it's like we're adding fuel into the fire. I wouldn't even waste my breath trying to change those mean spirited peoples minds. We know how good freddie and the show was. That's what counts.
hue_mee 02-05-2005, 12:36 PM I agree with you Pitooey. As much as all of us keep Freddie positively in our hearts, minds and here on the web. No one could even try to bash the show or disrespect Freddie a hundred fold. These people are probably unaware of what impact Freddie has made to others presently here. I am just happy that the Goodlife network has added Chico and the Man to there line up. Who knows... Maybe the ones that are putting down the show will actually view one evening and see what impact the show has brought to his fans and viewers alike.

Luckymama58 02-05-2005, 04:46 PM It is easy for us to judge one another, and from the sounds of it on that board, there is a lot of it going around on both sides. There are always going to be shows, movies, songs, groups, stars, sports, etc.. that we either, love, hate, or are indifferent to. And for as many people that populate this world, there are that many opinions about any topic someone brings up. I was tempted to add my two cents, but I wondered if it was worth the time to register on the board....
I was a bit disturbed to see that these people who don't like the show or the man (and they have a right not to every bit as strong as we have a right to love it and him) would call us a cult tho. Being a person of deep religious convictions, it bothers me that people do look upon us as being cultic in our admiration of Freddie. It has even been suggested by my own daughters that the pictures on my wall in my room of Freddie smacks of a shrine, like I idol worship Freddie or something. I don't see it like that, but it does make me pause and ponder what I do think about how I admire the man. I know that those who don't seem to understand him are telling us some things we tend not to want to face up to. I like to forget the ugly side of who Freddie was in favor of the good. But it is reality too. So we look at the good, and they tend to dwell on the bad. Which is right? I dunno, but I am sure there is a balance somewhere out there.
I didn't want to get into the fray over there, so I guess in needing some catharsis to that disturbing exchange I came over here to express myself. I know that there are some people who obsess about stars I personally don't care for or maybe don't feel as strongly about. I just choose not to bash them. Instead, I decide not to add my opinion about them. But in a free America, people do have the right to be negative as well as positive.
To all my friends on this board.... like the song says.... "don't be discouraged!" I am sure Freddie wouldn't want us to suffer slings and arrows on his behalf. Let them be mean, in the end, what will it really matter anyway....
Cheryl Harrell 02-06-2005, 03:25 AM I have no problem with folks not liking the show as it's a given that not everyone is gonna like the same thing. What bothered me was instead of politely saying they didn't like the show, they got all hateful & mean. It is a real mess over there with them getting all hateful over everything. I've seen folks over there get hateful on some of the other shows message boards over there. Evidently they must attract the fussy people lol. I tried to tell them nicely that it's not nice to talk bad of others but they just won't give up with their hatred. I probably shouldn't reply to them anymore. If no one replies to them anymore they'll only have themselves to argue with lol. Thank God there are other Freddie boards like this one where everyone is sweet & are fans over here. I am so glad to be on here with you good folks. Ya'll are the nicest people I've come across online. We are truly a little family over here & I'm glad to be here. So many of you in the Freddie world are so talented like our walllpaper makers like Dani & Suzanne & the fan fic writers like Luckymama, Mariposa, Suzaane & more. So while they are having the Bad Life over there lol, we are having the real Good Life with Freddie over here! Kudos to you all for being so sweet & friends! :)
victorianscribe 02-06-2005, 08:00 AM Cheryl,
You're a genuinely nice person, and if I were you, I wouldn't bother replying to them anymore. You're not going to change anyone's mind. They may refer to this board as a "cult," but what's wrong with people who expend so much time and energy criticizing the deceased? I truly wonder about someone who releases this amount of negativity. One of the most recent posts suggests that the negative comments should be forwarded to Freddie's mother, wife, and son -- what kind of sick idea is that?
I can't imagine myself disliking a TV show/performer enough to actually go on a message board and begin fights with admirers of that show or performer.
Actually, one point made over there is right -- nothing they say can or will hurt Freddie, since he has so much love and positive energy directed his way. The recent Walk of Fame ceremony proved that. So let them have their "fun" -- sooner or later, maybe they'll realize that they should get a life.
Luckymama58 02-06-2005, 10:10 AM It is kinda funny, on a lark I went into our moderator's thread about posting rules and read them again. It is really nice that this board has a moderator who cares about the hate that is spewed on other boards enough to try to keep this one free of that.
1. We are a PG (PG-13) site - please do not post any disgusting, vulgar, or offensive topics or pictures. Members are expected to self-moderate themselves within these guidelines. Moderators may edit your post if something is over the line. Do not go around the censoring filter by using vBcode to swear, it's not cool.
2. No offensive usernames, avatars, or signatures - they will be removed without warning.
3. Images are not allowed in signatures and please keep the text to no more then 5-10 lines.
4. No personal attacks - do not bring your instant messages, private e-mails or messages to the board. No derogatory comments against other posters, including slurs based on race, religion, gender, sexual preference, or political affiliation. No personal threats or harassment. No impersonation of other users.
5. No spam or advertising is allowed. Do not post links to warez or any other illegal material.
6. Do not post simply to raise your post count. It's not a contest to see who can post the most. It's quality over quantity.
7. Don't go to another board to post only negative messages.
8. No multiple usernames unless you have another family member on the same computer.
9. Please use the 'Report this post to a moderator' feature if you find an offensive post. While there are additional moderators for many of the boards, it's impossible to keep up with everything and read all posts.
10. Political comments are not permitted in posts, usernames, usertitles, avatars, or signatures at any time. Due to their similar tendency to invite problems, comments about religion are also prohibited.
We want the Sitcoms Online Message Boards to continue to be a safe and friendly place for all to visit and post. Thanks for your support!
I wanted to post those rules here and publically thank our moderator TJ for making this "a safe and friendly place for all to visit and post". I hope this board never delineates to what is going on at those other boards. That is why I like coming here more than any other message board. This was my introduction to message forums on the internet almost 4 years ago now (next month) and I must say that if I had gotten my first experience on another board, I might not be here today.
Pitooey 02-06-2005, 10:51 AM You're right Lucky.... I'm glad you posted their rules over on this board. You can see how desrespectful those mean spirited posters are. As for calling us a cult.... I almost laughed my head off.
I feel sad for those type people. They just put so much of their own energy in negativity.
hue_mee 02-06-2005, 02:28 PM I don't want to sound off topic here... But my husband used to pick on me as I was watching the CATM episodes on video tapes He would constantly say a line on a Rob Zombie song. The went as follows...
"Who is this irrisitable creature with a unsatiable love for the dead" -Rob Zombie
He hasn't said much about lately now we have sat together through the airings on the Goodlife network. I think he is finally coming around!

maybe this isn't exactly on the same topic, but it is a related one....
My family has made jokes about my love for Freddie ever since I got re-started on this obsession (I did have one back when he was alive too, but it died with him for many years). The favorite running joke around here is kinda related to yours, Suz. As many of you know, when we built our new home two years ago, I gained a room to myself where the computer resides. I put pictures of Freddie up in the back half of the room. There is an old trundle bed (just the top half) back there too with some old couch cushions on it. Sometimes I will lay on it and read and look at Freddie. Anyway, when Brian and I have one of our playful spats (I would never say this if we had a real spat) I will tell him that I will go and sleep with Freddie tonight, meaning on the couch upstairs in my room. To this he replies something to the effect of practicing necrophelia.... my son on the other hand is even cruder and tells me I'm cracking open a cold one.... OMG they think they are funny....
hue_mee 02-06-2005, 06:45 PM OMG Luckymama, LOL We are in the same boat. Your son has a humorous way of putting it.
Pitooey 02-06-2005, 07:10 PM    I'm sorry Lucky.......... I mean I've had ribbing over at my place too. I find my husband is understanding of my feelings for Freddie. He remembered Freddie way back in the 70's.
When we bought a computer for the home and I sat in front of it. I had heard something about Fred Jr. Well....................... That opened the floodgates inside of me that were shut down for so many years. I wanted to read up on Freddie Prinze.... I wanted to read on Fred Jr. and what he was doing so I typed the words.... Freddie Prinze and Lo and behold............. Here I am.........
This was the only place that had Chico and the Man..... I could come and talk about Freddie and his son here... I could talk about The show Chico and the Man.......I could talk about the pain that I had inside of me for so many years for Freddie, his suicide, his life and his son. There were other people here who remembered Freddie. We came to talk about Freddie. Not only him but Ed, Louie, Della and the others.
Of course... I have a younger sister who tells me "You're still talking about Freddie?" I just laugh........ My older son tells me "You still got Freddie on the brain?" Well what can I say......
What my sister and son do not know was that when Freddie passed away he took something of my soul with him. How could you forget that? After being on this site for as long as I have been I've felt "I've met great people (Thru Freddie)" So if I come here and talk... So what?
One more thing...... Yes I have other hobbies beside Freddie.........
Cheryl Harrell 02-06-2005, 07:45 PM Fortunately my hubby Mike understands my getting into Freddie. He's a big Elvis fan & collects everything on him so that helps him understand on Freddie & my other stars. :) If only other folks understood & didn't think it was strange...
 On the Good Life boards on one of the threads someone listed some folks they thought were morons on there & I was one of the morons listed. Well I'm proud to be a moron for Freddie. I don't think I should reply to it lol...
I guess I'm a...legend...on those boards.
Search for posts by AllMyShadows. And there ya go.
tylersmistress2002 02-10-2005, 12:45 PM Unfortunately my b/f (antonio) is NOT understanding....can you believe he is actually Jealous of a man who isnt here to compete for my affection! hehe Of course, he doesnt know that if Freddie was with us and I had even one smiggen of a chance....there would be no competition.............Antonio who? Then again...maybe he DOES know that..... Hey ya cant blame a girl for dreamin......... lol
I have no one that is jealous of Freddie but i do admit that several of my family members think i am a few fries short a happy meal because i love Freddie and collect pictures of him. Even my aunt that was excited for me when i got things on ebay has now become critical of that,,,,,and everything else in my life.
But i don't care, beaing here and the other sites for freddie make me happy, so THANK YOU ALL!
Cheryl Harrell 02-11-2005, 06:27 AM Ya'll & my hubby Mike are the only ones who understand. Everyone else thinks I'm weird. Even Mike jokes how come you didn't fall in love with him when you watched the show back then but got into him in the TVLAND rre-runs now... We love being here with those who understand... :)
