Attention sellers and traders !!!

Beware of doing any sort of business with the following gentleman:

Dave Stevenson @ agape@bresnan.net

After paying and recieving for merchandise, he claims he can not recieve "pirated" material. Then wants a refund.
This is after he has had the merchandise over a week.

Did you meet him at a tape trading board/group or elsewhere?

I certainly hope you're not refunding his money. On your site you've made it perfectly clear that you sell on a collector-to-collector basis even mentioning the VHS name brands that you use. If the guy thought he was getting commercial tapes, he either didn't read your terms and conditions or is just trying to rip you off by using this common scare tactic.

I have no intentions of doing so, however he has taking steps to try and get it from me.

He attempted to file a complaint with paypal, but it was done 30 days after the sale, so he was no longer eligible to do so.

His last e-mail stated that he was going to contact the FBI and TV land (who is currently airing the series) and report me.

I know at least one bad trader that has been reported over and over again to the FBI to no avail. This one trader alone has ripped off tons of people yet the FBI doesn't lift a finger. Because of this, I highly doubt that anything will be done especially if only one person has a complaint against you.

This is simple... He bought from you?

He either wants to "burn and return", meaning, he got what he wanted, made copies for himself and now wants a refund to get the stuff form you for free.. (laughs) Fool

He knowingly knew of your items and he proceeded to buy. Ignorance is no excuse of the law. There's no way to know if he already copied your stuff and wants it for free...I'm sure he does this frequently... Gets tv shows, copies them for his libraray, then demands a refund because they're copies? He can always buy retail for the originals...he chose not to. Notice how it took him a week to copy the tapes? What, he's too busy to contact you sooner? Lies. He didn't know? Lies. He has an obligation to ask questions before hand before exhanging goods and services and terms and agreements...he failed to do so, and he knowingly knew of your merchandise he wanted from you, got them, copied them, and wants to get rid of his pruchase. All sales are FINALl! All sales a re FINAL!

Lastly, refer him to your Link again, where you have your disclaimer and inform him that was read and clearly understood the terms, and one sale of items will have no negative consequence to you to anyone.... :)

Or better yet? Ignore his emails. PERIOD. Just ignore him. He'll go away. Don't argue or name call, but ignore his emails....oh, and go ahead and report him on all the other trading boards, to be aware of his scam... knowingly buying from traders, copying tapes, then demanding refunds after doing so or threatens to report them.etc... He threatesn you with this or that, report him to his internet provier for harassment... "let the buyer beware" tough cookies. good luck
