I was thinking about getting one. and I wasn't sure if it was worth paying 200-600 dollars to buy one. Plus I had alotta questions too....such as, Is it going to be around for along time, or will it become obsolete fast like Laser Disc? What kinda sites can buy Music from? and can you hook it up to your Stereo at home or in your Car? If anyone could tell me that would be great!

Seriously, don't bother. Not only is MiniDisc not worth your time or money; it's also inferior to standard compact disc in terms of sound quality.

As far as whether or not it's obsolete, it is. It has been from day one.

The most promising "next-generation" audio formats are Super Audio CD and DVD-Audio, but standard CD isn't going anywhere for a long long time.
