I thought that was a slap in the face to Mama Thomas. I'm referring to the Bill gets married episode. He was a dead beat dad from the get go, meets a new woman, and gets married in his ex-wife's house with her kids in front of all of them. Mrs. thomas was left in the cold with no man.

I agree; even though Mabel was a Big Woman; she was a very beautiful, articulate, and a classy lady that deserved to have a love interest on the show...:)

The thing is, she was starting to get phased out by season 2.

Wasn't there an episode where Mabel returned to school and found a boyfriend there? I could be wrong. I just saw What's Happening Season 1 this week, and this is the first time I've seen the show since 1985 or 1986. :D

The show was fine the way it was, centered around Raj, rerun, and dwayne. I don't think no one would have been interested in seeing Mabel with a man. And the producers knew that which is why they never gave her a man.-lol

She didnt need one she was ALWAYS WORKING!She did have a crush on some guy when she was in night school but he was low.....just like Bill and was using her so he could pass.
