I am looking for the ghost segment on TOYS R US and the WINCHESTER MYSTERY HOUSE (did they do one?).

If anyone has a copy and can make me a copy, I would appreciate it very much! I'll pay for all costs!

To my knowledge, there has never been a UM segment on either the Toys R Us episode or the Winchester Mystery House. I'm from the San Francisco Bay Area where both of these cases took place, and I've watched UM since the very beginning, I definately would have remembered seeing them. The Toys R Us segment WAS shown on a TV program called Haunted Lives that we have discussed previously:

As far as the Winchester Mystery House is concerned, I think most critics would say that it's appeal stems from the fact that Sarah Winchester built the house in such a crazy fashion to appease the spirits that supposedly wanted revenge for the deaths caused by her late husband's invention (the Winchester rifle). As far as actual hauntings go, most employees report nothing more than strange knocking sounds and the occasional footsteps (and this is mostly for the benefit of attracting tourists). An interesting story, but not really an unsolved mystery or a ghost story there.
If you're interested in Bay Area ghost stories, UM did profile the Blue Lady at the Moss Beach Distillery (they, unfortunately, use the Blue Lady as a marketing ploy, which tends to lessen the credibility but what can ya do?)

Of course, I could be mistaken and just happened to miss both these episodes, so maybe someone can prove me wrong...:o

Several years ago, there was a documentary that discussed both cases. This is probably what you were thinking of, as I don't believe UM ever profiled either story. I used to have it on tape, but I have not watched it in years, and have no idea where it might be now.

I made the same mistake earlier, thinking the Toys R Us episode was Unsolved Mysteries. As it turns out, that was a segment on another show called "That's Incredible." I have it on tape when I last saw it aired a few years ago... the one where the colonial man injured himself by swinging an axe into his leg by accident, right? And this Toys R Us is built over this plot of land this man is believed to have died. Not Unsolved, it was That's Incredible. Also should be made into a DVD.

This ghost story was featured in the short lived series "Haunted Lives" which was narrated by Leonard Nimoy. That might be where you saw it.

If I recall correctly, Toys R Us was built on ground that once belonged to a man who had a house on that property and they believe he is one of the ghosts in the toy store. I "think" the land's past was only recently unearthed but not positive.

True, "That's Incredible" could be sort of on the hokey side. But, it couldn't have been a wannabe UM considering that it ran from 1980-1984 -three years before UM even first aired in 1987.

Is the Toys "R" Us still open today? Is it still haunted? :eek:

That's Incredible was a magnificent show and I'll insist that to my dying day.

I had always wondered what she was famous for, and after watching That's Incredible for the first time, I got my answer. Fans of wrestling weren't too thrilled with her announcing performance, but at least she was better than "uh-oh" Susan St. James

That's true. Although Moolah/Velvet McIntyre was rumored to have been cut short due to Velvet's strap breaking (which explains Moolah's awkward cover). I heard she was supposed to win the title that night. It's a darn shame she didn't because she was one of the best female athletes in the world at the time. And I don't think Moolah needed to extend her 30 year reign. But the night did have several highlights. Watching Terry Funk get body slammed on a table is amusing.

Jake the Snake making poor George Wells foam at the mouth was worth the price of Wrestlemania 2.

And my wife works at an unhaunted ToysRUs.
