Curious about the home of Rob & Laura Petrie, I visited this site. Thought I'd pass it along.

Thanks, Steve. Interesting site. I've actually driven through New Rochelle a couple of times, but never have been able to stop and explore. I just may have to do that sometime!

I think I've said this before here, but there really is a Bonnie Meadow Road in New Rochelle. I went on a vacation in the Hudson River valley a couple of years ago and drove down into NYC. I went through New Rochelle and made a point of looking up Bonnie Meadow Rd. It's a short semi-circular street in a nice area with lots of trees . The houses look like they were built in the 1950's. The street is in New Rochelle, but the back yards are right on the city limits with Scarsdale.

I wonder if one of the houses on that street has a rock in the basement?

Sounds nice. What a shame we were never given an exterior view of 148 Bonnie Meadow Road.

I once read there were plans to create a DVDS museum in New Rochelle someday... sort of like the Lucy-Desi museum in Jamestown, NY. If they did that it would be awesome!!! And at the grand opening, everybody from TDVDS message boards at SO could have a convention and we could all meet each other.

Now that would be cool!

On the advice of another member of this board (I think it was Lolac), I bought Carl Reiner's book "My Anecdotal Life." I started reading it last night and am already about halfway through. So far I am thoroughly enjoying it. Anyway, in one of his stories Mr. Reiner mentions that he lived on Bonny Meadow Road in New Rochelle! He doesn't give the exact address, but I wonder if it could have been 148? I also wonder if Carl Reiner bought the house with a rock in its basement?

I am also finding out that some of the guest names used on TDVDS are from friends of Carl Riener. Two of his friends mentioned are Sol Pomerantz and Joe Coogan!!

Even though there's a Bonnie Meadow Rd., there isn't a for real '148 Bonnie Meadow Rd.' I guess they had to do something to maintain a semblance of privacy for those who live there.

Wasn't it originally 448 Bonnie Meadow Road?

Steve, Steve. I understand these senior moments, because I occasionally have them myself, but this is basic. Even the teenagers know this one. It is 148 Bonnie Meadow Road. Watch episode # 41, "A Bird in the Head Hurts." He gives the address to the game warden in that one.

Carl's actual address was 48 Bonnie Meadow Road. He put a "1" in front (as someone noted) simply to make sure there weren't fan seekers trying to find the address (148 Bonnie Meadow Road does NOT exist).

Lolac,
They tell me senility begins to set in as early as 18 years of age, which puts years into my particular affliction, I know. But no, I was referring to the original address as stated by Carl, not Rob. I knew it contained 4s and 8s, but I'd forgotten the combination. So please, don't have me hauled off just yet ;) !
Thanks HeadWalnut!
