There's Letterman's famous "Top Ten Lists", Leno's "Headlines" and "Jaywalking", Conan's "Triumph the Insult Comic Dog" and "The Masturbating Bear." What are your favorite gimmics from your favorite late night shows?
The Late Show with David Letterman is my favorite of the three. I like it when he does his "Top Ten Lists", something he has done ever since his days at NBC. I also like his "CBS Mailbag" thing he does once a week. His Friday shows usually include one of the three "America's Fastest Growing Party Sensations": "Stump the Band" (borrowed from Johnny Carson and The Tonight Show), "Audience Show and Tell", and "Know Your CBS Weathermen, Know Your Cuts of Meat, etc." Every Friday he and Paul Shaffer play "Will It Float." Always something to look forward to. There's the occasional "Stupid Human Tricks" and I like Rupert Gee and his Hello Deli, where someone is picked to play a game on the show.
The Tonight Show with Jay Leno has some great stuff, too. There's the opening monologue. But I love Monday nights when Jay Leno does "Headlines." The headlines earlier this week were hilarious. I sort of like Jaywalking but Headlines rules.
I'm just starting to watch Conan so I don't know what he usually does.
