everytime I try to make a thread of this nature it fails because of human idiocy, but here is what goes on.


Ok, I say the name of something that has happened in multiple TV shows, and everyone names a show that the thing has happened in (ONE show, once someone else posts you can post another one)

I hope that makes sense (it's really not that complicated)




Two characters get handcuffed together:

Green Acres



(this is an easy one, since it has happened in many shows)

Wife goes into labour, husband is having "sympathy" pains only to discover that it's appendicitis.

....you're not supposed to say another cliche...you are supposed to name a show that used the theme I mentioned.

"I Love Lucy"


(this is an easy one, since it has happened in many shows)

"Three's Company" immediately springs to mind. Jack and Chrissy were handcuffed together in an episode.

Sanford and Son: Fred and Aunt Esther were handcuffed together thanks to Grady.

Family Guy

Stewie and Brian were actually superglued together, but I'm going to count it, because it is the same dynamic.


I can think of one more obvious one, so when someone says it I will move on :)

Ok, this one only works with newershows but:

Someone gets in a bidding war with someone they know (or someone they dont know who is sitting in the room) on Ebay.

Full House, Jesse and Joey bid against Danny for a car(but weren't aware it was Danny they were bidding against)

Cliff Huxtable bids against his wife for a painting over the phone, neither know who is the making the opposing bid.

"Will & Grace" did the eBay bidding storyline, with Jack. They did the campaigning thing too, between Will and Grace (as close to husband/wife / boyfriend/girlfriend as that show's ever gonna get :p).

Didn't "Cheers" do the campaigning story too, with Sam and Diane? I think it was the fourth season finale. They weren't campaigning against each other directly, but they were supporting two different political opponents.
