COURT TV SAYS HALLSTROM VS. BARKER COULD GO TO TRIAL IN FALL '05
A battle over more than a Showcase Showdown appears headed to court between former "Price Is Right" model Holly Hallstrom and host/executive producer Bob Barker after years of legal wrangling.
Court TV reports Hallstrom's wrongful termination suit has been cleared for trail in Los Angeles.
An LA appeals court ruled Hallstrom had a valid claim after a lower court vacated the suit earlier.
The case involves allegations Hallstrom was terminated ostensibly for violating a weight clause in her employment agreement. Yet, associates of Hallstrom insist she was let go in the mid-90's for failing to stick up for Barker in former model Dian Parkinson's sexual harassment suit against the emcee.
Nck Alden, Hallstrom's attorney, told Court TV he expected the trial to start in late 2005 or early 2006. Attorneys for Barker could still petition a higher court to have the suit tossed out.
The Court TV story onlne includes charges and countercharges from other former "Price" staffers and Baker's publicist Henri Bollinger.
