View Full Version : Scariest Ghost Episode
dankind80 10-06-2004, 02:43 PM Hey guys. I just bought the GHOST DVD pack, and was highly disappointed that they left out the classic episode with the haunted TOYS R US. How dare they! But, in all seriousness, I was equally disappointed the DVDs were further lacking in another critical bit of Unsolved Mystery spookiness. Maybe a fan of the series can help me out, as I was probably 7 or 8 when I last saw this episode I'm about to reference. Matter of fact, it was probably the original air date that I saw it. Anyway, I remember there was a very violent ghost haunting, wherein a male member (father?) of the family was in the living room of his house, and a female apparition materialized, and actually, by the male's account, this apparition raped him on the livingroom floor. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not a nut or anything. I just particularly remember this section of a ghost story on Unsolved Mysteries, and to my dismay, I cannot find any evidence of its existence. I remember an expert on the episode remarking that such an action of a ghost was extremely rarely recorded. I've seen the Tallman's Ghost episode many times, and it seems befitting that it was part of that episode which was edited after its original airing, which happens many times on many television shows. For example, Daffy Duck no longer pulls a gun out and blows his brains out at the end of some Looney Toons episodes, right? Mainly because of the graphic nature. And, the Tallman father shouts and hollers at the ghost to fight him, and I could've sworn it happened in a room like the one the actor is standing in. A very frightening image, believe me, but I would've hoped the footage to be restored. Ah well. If anyone remembers this, please help. Thank you.
Flying Dutchman 10-06-2004, 09:02 PM What you are talking about is the movie the haunted i dont know if unsolved had a segment on it but this made for tv movie was based on a true story, it had sally kirkland in it (From best of the best) the family moved into this house and after about 2 years of living in the home the ghosts started haunting them, and she tried to get some help from a couple that were ghost hunters, well one night while she was upstairs with the kids a girl with blonde hair comes walking down the stairs and her husband is watching tv then he looks at this girl and askes her who she is and what is she doing here? well she doesnt answer but smiles at him then throws him to the ground then rapes him as this is happening the ghost starts to change its appearence and it gets very ugly, then after about a minute it disapears, then these ghost hunters tell them that they have rarely heard of an aperition raping someone but that it had happen before. it turns out that someone was violently killed in that house and this family could not escape them wherever they went, the house was haunted by a young female ghost an older female ghost and the man that died in the house, but they were being driven by an evil powerful demon, it was very scary your right. it aired on fox in the early 90s i have it on video still. hope this helped.
dankind80 10-07-2004, 06:37 AM Flying Dutchman, you have made my day! Thank you so much! I honestly could have sworn that it was an ep. of Unsolved, but just to know my memory is still intact from 15 years ago, and having only seen it once. Also, was there an episode of Unsolved Mysteries, where the owner of the house was so freaked that he ran out to the street, looked back at the house, and saw a face in the window? I seem to remember that vividly. And how do you feel about the Ghosts DVD not having the classic TOYS R US episode?
Flying Dutchman 10-07-2004, 08:16 AM I have not seen the ghost dvd yet but i heard that alot of segments were not put on, well its probably because they may use it in another dvd set later if they decide to make one, the other ghost story if its the one i am thinking of the residents in that house had a similar experience to the ones in the haunted.

I have to say I'm dissapointed that they didn't put all of the episodes on there but I'm hoping they will release a ghost 2 eventually and that one will be on there and maybe the rest of them.I'm still happy to have this one thou.I'm going to enjoy watching it on Halloween.I will be emailing First Look and telling them I think they should release another unsolved mysteries ghost sequel in the near future.
sharkie54 10-07-2004, 04:44 PM Did Unsolved Mysteries do a ghost story episode from the TOYS R US? When was it?
And, too bad they never did a segment on The Winchester Mystery House, The Whaley House or Hotel Del COrnado. Or, even ghosts from Alcatraz.
From my knowledge, The segments I know that are left off are the St. James Hotel, La Posada Hotel, House in Nevada...are there any other segments???
And, does anyone happen to have the TOYS R US segment on tape and is willing to make a copy for me? Thanks!
Flying Dutchman 10-07-2004, 04:56 PM Lifetimes is now airing all the early eps so if you keep watching they may play the toys r us one
sharkie54 10-07-2004, 05:04 PM Did they indeed do a segment from the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose? If so, does anyone have a copy?
dankind80 10-08-2004, 01:05 AM I just remembered... Toys R Us Ghost was a segment on another show called "That's Incredible." Darnit. That is a great, great ghost story. The show even brings in one of the UM psychic regulars; I believe her name is Sylvia Brown? And she finds the spirit of a man who accidentally cut into his leg with an axe while attempting to chop firewood. Beautiful segment.
