Mr. Television 10-03-2004, 11:23 PM Lost and Desperate Housewives are the best new dramas of the season. dawsongirl 10-04-2004, 01:32 AM My fav so far is Clubhouse. There's a difference. Mr. Television 10-04-2004, 04:37 PM Originally posted by USTVFanFromUK Isn't Desperate Housewives more of a dramedy than a drama per se? There's a difference. Probably but a lot of the dramas I watch have a lot of humor in them . Maybe not as much as this one though. Christopher 10-04-2004, 08:09 PM Desperate Housewives (the best new show this season) Nip/Tuck Boston Legal Clubhouse Tru Calling EmoJoe 10-29-2004, 11:35 PM Charmed and 7th Heaven are my top two Pentimento 10-30-2004, 11:30 AM I find myself spending more and more time on the pay cable/satellite channels and very little on the major networks. There used to be ten or twelve dramas that I looked forward to each week, but the list has dwindled considerably over the last few years. I've recently dropped ER with the departure of Alex Kingston and the general soap-style plots that have taken over what used to be a unique and compelling drama. I've also lost interest in The West Wing without Aaron Sorkin and Thomas Schlamme. CSI was getting repetitive even before it became too diluted by yet a third locale. I'm still not sure about Monk without Bitty Schram, but I'm not optimistic. Currently, there are only four network drama/dramedies on my must-see list: Desperate Housewives Joan of Arcadia Lost Without a Trace As for limited series on HBO and Showtime: Carnivale Dead Like Me The L Word Six Feet Under The Sopranos Brent88 01-30-2005, 08:52 PM Desperate Housewives Desperate Housewives AND Desperate Housewives I'm not a drama/soap fan at all, but I'm hooked. TJL 01-30-2005, 09:09 PM Smallville, Everwood, Gilmore Girls (although I think that's more of a comedy) I also watch Star Trek Enterprise and the new Battlestar Galactica. barwars 02-02-2005, 08:35 PM For me.... Desperate Housewives Boston Legal Veronica Mars Jack & Bobby Las Vegas and Monk Those are still my picks, although I don't watch "Jack & Bobby" anymore. vashti1999 02-02-2005, 11:46 PM Those are still my picks, although I don't watch "Jack & Bobby" anymore. You need to start watching 24. Change the channel from Las Vegas on NBC to FOX and just start watching 24. Period. barwars 02-03-2005, 02:44 PM You need to start watching 24. Change the channel from Las Vegas on NBC to FOX and just start watching 24. Period. I've watched it a few times.... its just not my thing. Great concept, and great actors, its just something about it doesn't seem to click for me. I'll give it another chance though. Ohh, and just let me say in advance.... damn you if I get addicted to yet another show. Pentimento 02-03-2005, 03:26 PM I've watched it a few times.... its just not my thing. Great concept, and great actors, its just something about it doesn't seem to click for me.And here I thought I was the only person on the planet who really tried to like 24 but just could not get into it. I can't even say what specifically about it didn't work for me. I tried to watch it a few times, but it just didn't hold my interest. barwars 02-03-2005, 06:02 PM And here I thought I was the only person on the planet who really tried to like 24 but just could not get into it. I can't even say what specifically about it didn't work for me. I tried to watch it a few times, but it just didn't hold my interest. All in all it's a good series. I really liked the acting and the storyline.... but something just wasn't right. Maybe it was just too many American Idol commercials that turned me off. Skywalker 02-04-2005, 03:50 AM 24 Desperate Housewives Monk TJL 02-04-2005, 07:40 AM I also forgot... I also like Veronica Mars - great series; and Monk, although I must admit that I haven't been keeping up with Monk lately. I do want to see the new season with Traylor Howard replacing Bitty Shramm. Pentimento 02-04-2005, 11:26 AM I also forgot... I also like Veronica Mars - great series; and Monk, although I must admit that I haven't been keeping up with Monk lately. I do want to see the new season with Traylor Howard replacing Bitty Shramm.I honestly expected to hate Monk without Bitty Schram. I was prepared to watch as much of the first episode of the new half-season as I could stand and then retreat wistfully into the comfort of the first- and second-season DVDs. I might have been very wrong. The first episode with Traylor Howard was outstanding (with the exception of the crime itself, which was just plain stupid). The show was, in my opinion, back to its first-season form and I barely missed Sharona at all. The second episode had a couple of rough spots but the crime was better. I think it will be OK without Sharona. Different, but as good as it was in the early episodes. vashti1999 02-04-2005, 11:22 PM All in all it's a good series. I really liked the acting and the storyline.... but something just wasn't right. Maybe it was just too many American Idol commercials that turned me off. That's what the dvds are for. Better for you to get totally engrossed in the show, no distracting commercials. I got into it through the dvds. I rented it at first. Watched one episode and I was hooked; nons-top suspense. You just keep wanting to see what happens next. But I understand if it's simply not your kind of show. Well, I don't understand. But I do. spunkygirl 02-13-2005, 03:04 AM Desperate Housewives Smallville AnaheimPMWitch 02-13-2005, 03:15 AM I'm usually not one for Drama's but I do have three top favorite shows that are You guessed it Drama's anyways they are IN ORDER CSI and tied for second place CSI NY and Lost jolli 02-14-2005, 07:07 PM House is now my favorite since most recent episode. I've seen clips from the new episode "detox" and it looks even better. House has to give up taking Vicodin, I can't wait to see that. Superstar 02-16-2005, 09:58 AM Charmed Van_Smack 02-16-2005, 07:03 PM IAs for limited series on HBO and Showtime: Carnivale Dead Like Me The L Word Six Feet Under The Sopranos I'm a huge fan of Sopranos and Carnivale myself. I came across this article about carnivale the other day and thought it was pretty interesting. Carnivale article (http://terminusen.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=52&mode=thread&order=0&thold=0) barwars 03-11-2005, 04:28 PM You need to start watching 24. I Watched the first few episodes of Point Pleasant but it got too creepy and dark for me. Veronica Mars looks good, But I Don't have UPN. So Far I'm enoying Blind Justice. I Occasionally watch Jack & Bobby, But I'm Not really a "Fan" Of it. vashti1999 04-02-2005, 11:47 PM I gave it a try last week, and wasn't very impressed. There's a deficiency somewhere. You can't give it a try, if you don't watch it from the start and care about the characters (namely Jack), it's understandable you might not be impressed. You have to give it more than a try. Anyway, didn't you see that great review they gave the season 3 dvd on Classic TV Hits (http://www.classictvhits.com/promotions/reviews/review_details.php?id=309)? Sounds like a good show to me. Zebra 3 04-03-2005, 01:39 AM The gritty police drama The Shield (http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/forumdisplay.php?f=523). TJL 04-03-2005, 04:39 AM The other day, "Battlestar Galactica" on the Sci Fi Channel had their first season finale, and IMO, it was the best finale show I have ever seen.. Not only is it the best sci fi show on TV right now, but I would put it up against any other hour long drama in a heartbeat. This show is brilliant. This show is miles ahead of any other sci fi show, and this is coming form a die hard Star Trek fan. comedyfreak 02-03-2006, 08:51 AM Smallville 7th Heaven Everwood Boston Legal The O.C. I hope CBS keeps those 2 shows together for many years to come. I enjoy Cold Case, but damn, every episode makes me cry! I also like Without a Trace. I used to be a big CSI fan, but after they moved Without a Trace, I guess I just lost interest.
