If you're too young to remember these songs, I HATE YOU!! Just kidding.

Goes to show I must've really hated Night Ranger, I remember all of these songs pretty well but don't remember the Night Ranger song at all. Blocked them out of my mind, I guess.

The five artists who would get Grammy nominations for album of the year that year were all represented in the top 20: Prince, Cyndi L., Tina T., Bruce S. and Lionel R.

Elsewhere on that week's chart, Prince's When Doves Cry dropped out of the top 40 (from #23 to #46) but Chaka Khan's cover of a Prince song, I Feel For You, entered the top 40 (from #49 to #38)

The highest debut on the Hot 100 was Out of Touch by Hall & Oates, #48

The oldest song on the chart, spending its 30th week on the Hot 100, was Borderline by Madonna, #97

For BuffySlayer79: David Bowie's Blue Jean was #34

For jrnygrl: Steve Perry's Strung Out was #50

For AKA: Billy Joel's Leave A Tender Moment Alone was #61

For Dr. Jazz: SOS Band's Just The Way You Like It was #68

That is the only one I don't remember either! I didn't think Drive by the Cars ever got that high.

Hey Vashti, thanks for posting this and the Steve Perry mention (#50:mad:  ).

Looking at this list, music 20 years ago was a real mix of everything. Don't feel bad about the Night Ranger song, I never heard of it either, the only Night Ranger song I know is "Sister Christian."

I love all the songs listed. Where did the time go!!!?????

A lot of those songs are great. I especially like the songs:
Let's Go Crazy, Missing You, What's Love Got To Do With It, Cruel Summer, I Just Called To Say I Love You, Lucky Star and She Bop. I like Laura Branigan's music, but I haven't heard the song Lucky One.

I just checked the chart. That song moved up from 41 to 40, then the following week it dropped to #56.
