"Welcome To My Life" starring Malcolm-Jamal Warner as Chris Winters, a former football player who now works at the local cable sports channel on his new talk show "Heads Up". Chris is a loving husband and great father to his wife and kids. Chris's beautiful and faithful wife of 13 years, Hannah Winters (Elise Neal) is a talented cosmetologist at the local beauty salon intheir hometown of San Diego, California. Chris and Hannah have three children: Max Winters, 13, Kellie Winters, 11, and Bobby Winters, 8. Chris and Hannah got married when Hannah was 4 motnhs pregnant with Max. Max is in the 7th grade, Kellie is in the 5th grade, and Bobby is in the 2nd grade. Chris's best friend/co-worker/neighbor, Doug Richards (Tracy Morgan) often hangs out with Chris and often drops by with his several "new" girlfriends. Doug is a guy who can not commit which makes Hannah not so fond of him. Hannah's best friend, Gina Waters (Tisha Campbell) often drops by with seeking advice about men, friends, family, co-workers, her love life, her life in general, etc.

In the season premiere, Chris absent-mindedly introduces Doug and Gina to each other. Gina and Doug decide to go out on a date, Hannah finds out what Chris did and is angry with him. Hannah and Chris end up in a fight, until they recieve a call from a drunken Doug and Gina calling from Vegas announcing them being married.
