I can't decie if I like season 1 or 2 the best(of the seasons with John Amos as James). Seems like he wasn't as much a part of the stories in Season 3, except for the first couple episodes.

Season 2 seemed to have the most well rounded episodes with James, showing his temper and anger at injustices as well as his humorous sides. Favorite James moments from this season(1974-75): 1. The Encyclopedia Hustle- James asks the blind salesman who's been ripping them off, "Mr. Anderson, do you read braille?" Anderson: "Of course." James: "Good. (Makes a fist and holds it for Anderson to feel) What do this say?!" 2. The Windfall James finds a sack of stolen money and keeps $2000 of it, drawing protests from his family and the Reverend Gordon. At one point when the Reverend gives an "Amen", James comes back with, "We can do WITHOUT the heavenly cheering section, REV!" 3. The Gang(Part 2) Referring to the gangleader MadDog who shot J.J., James says he's "Not going to break very bone in MadDog's body. JUST the trigger finger. I'm gonna break that finger so it's pointing North, South, East and West ALL at the SAME Time!!!" vashti1999 10-01-2004, 01:43 PM season 2 TVFactFan 10-01-2004, 06:32 PM Originally posted by Jefffalan I think I have to agree. And don't forget the scene when J.J's rich girlfriend parents came to get there daughter J.J: Can I offer yall some Kool aid? James:Junior, you don't offer kool aid to Mr. and Mrs. Oreo, you serve a drink with custom made bubbles ain't that right cookie? Clorissa's Father: That's cut it, that's it Mr. Evans, it's time me and you get down!!!! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!! Jefffalan 10-01-2004, 06:54 PM That was a great episode with James. I like it when the girl comes in to tell them J.J. can't take her to the prom. "My parents feel he's not the right type for me . . ." James: WHAT the HELL do you mean he ain't the right type?!!! Florida: James, please! James:(Calmer) I'm sorry for yelling. I'm Junior's daddy, you excuse me . . . Girl: It's okay . . . James: But WHAT the HELL you MEAN he ain't the right type?!!! snl75 10-05-2004, 03:57 PM season 2 laneyday 10-07-2004, 02:52 PM season 2 GeeBee 10-08-2004, 12:15 AM The one where he died.
