"In The Shadow"

"In The Shadow" stars Ashlee Simpson as Ashlee Taylor, a rebellish 19-year-old middle child. Ashlee's parents, Rob and Kate Taylor (Tim Allen, Patricia Heaton) have three daughters; Sarah Taylor, 23 (Jessica Simpson), Ashlee Taylor, 19, and Meghan Taylor, 17 (Hilary Duff). Sarah is getting married to her fiancee of 2 years, Nathan (Nick Lachey). Ashlee's parents are very happy and excited about Sarah and Nathan getting married. Meghan is great at sports and academics. Ashlee's parents are thrilled to see Meghan's grades and SAT scores, and love to go and watch Meghan at her sporting events. Leaving Ashlee out in the cold. Ashlee is a freshman at Michigan State University with no idea of what her major and minor will be yet. Ashlee's parents do love her, but she knows they love their oldest and youngest more than the middle child. Ashlee turns to her boyfriend, Chris (David Gallagher) and her best friend, Kristin (Scarlett Johannsen) for support.
