when i hit the stores it usually takes me a good half hour to pick out what TVDVD I want to buy. Suncoast Always has the shows I want so I go Their First. FYE has the same shows, but their prices are never low. I can never seem to make uo my mind when buying tvdvds...

As far as the scenario you're describing, I never have that problem because I always go to the store with the specific title I want in mind. It may take me a half hour looking over the selection if I want to browse, but as far as deciding what I want, my mind is made up before I get there.

Dates in my head are stored and arranged by dvd releases. October 5 is What's Happening Day, November 2 is Looney Tunes/Three's Company Day, November 16 is Pee Wee's Playhouse Day, etc. There are no problems when you know what you want ahead of time.

price is the only deal for me. If it costs too much, I don't want it. The X-Files is the biggie in this dept. If Fox ever lowers the price, I'd buy it, but not at $100 a season, meaning $900 for the series.

Picture quality helps, but it doesn't have to be pristine as long as it looks better than VHS. I don't need captions, so that is not a worry for me. If I love the show enough, I don't care if a few (get that Lion's Gate, A FEW, not all) episodes are edited as long as it's not the entire series. I also don't really care if music as replaced, but I do demand at least the original theme song and "key" songs of the series (like if Friends took out "Take A Bow" at the end of season 1, the whole mood would've been ruined) remain.

All in all, it is all about price for me. I bought 227 for $25. I like the show but if it was $49.99, I wouldn't have made the purchase.

Not really, I just make sure I buy series that I like, and think has replay value.

To an extent, I won't buy a tvdvd if it's edited at all. I mean if I wanted it edited I would tape it off of tv. Now like with Dff'rent Strokes I might buy it edited since it's not on tv, but only if I can find it cheap enough, I won't pay like $40.00 for a tvdvd that has edited episodes.

Now if I know what I want ahead of time, then it is easier, otherwise I tend to browse :)

When I buy shows on TV-DVD, I look for shows that I like (that are funny) and can't see on TV. I tend to buy TV-DVD's are edited, but only if I really want to see the show and I can't watch the show on TV. I also don't spend more than $50 on a release unless it's show I really like (which is rare.) When I buy my TV-DVD I already know what I'm looking for, I don't make my decisions at the store, unless there is a price conflict (I usually wait for it to go on sale.) Lastly, if there is a show that I haven't ever seen before and I hear good things about it, I usually will buy it.

I will only buy shows I've seen and enjoy enough to watch over and over. I'm a creature of habit, so I just can't bring myself to expand my interests. But I don't watch much TV to begin with, so it's no big deal. :p

no, i'm not picky. i usually get all of my dvds for free ... my daddy works in dvd industry. lucky me. :D
