I liked it because it was not afraid to take chances, it pushed all the buttons in the 90s, and it was just plain funny!

I thought Rosanne was funny, like the time she told Dan the only reason she married him is because she needed a date for the weding and you could tell she really did love her kids.

Its whole setting, making it a sitcom (and light drama) capable to connect with most of the audience.
From the real characters (they reminds us of ourself, of a member of our family, or of a friend), to the ambientation in a small town, and the problems they confront every day.
