Are they moronic?!!! Do they not know this was John Ritter's best scene ever on the show?!! You'd figure with Nick piling up the great 80's stuff that they knew what they were doing. But to cut his entire song and dance act was AWFUL!!! He still had to use the salt shaker, put the plant on his head, strut down the stairs, and then go flying over the chair. So glad I taped it off another channel years ago that has the whole scene...no if I could only find it. In watching re-runs of different shows the last 15 years or so, there seem to be two versions that can be aired, with different stuff cut. Like in this episode, they usually cut Teri talking to Jack about her book and just go straight to Janet coming in and having trouble with her sweater. But Nick keeps choosing to air the long theme and leaving in the last minute or so of the episodes, thereby sacrificing other scenes. For so long I didn't know some footage existed, cuz the Fox station here in LA would always air the same edited version of the show. A shame what advertising space does to a great show in re-runs.

I totally agree with everything you said. This is my favorite episode but I can't watch it because of that damn edit. The beginning should have definitely been cut because it has nothing to do with the rest of the episode. How can the cut that classic scene with Jack!?

I have a theory that the producers put in the lame beginning scene with Terri and Jack just for future editing because they knew none of the rest of the episode could possibly be cut. They didn't realize Nick at Nite could be so crazy as to cut out the best scene of the best episode of the best show ever to air on tv.

Nick-at-nite = The saddest tv show network i have ever seen in my life....
