Both sitcoms were by female comediennes turned actors but which is better?

Roseanne's certainly the better show. But I do like Ellen a lot too.

I like Ellen for what it did for gays and lesbians on tv, but Roseanne did it more, did it better and is by far the superior show. Plus, Roseanne's a better actress than Ellen, although I prefer Ellen's style of comedy more. Don't get me wrong, I loved Ellen, and her talk show is the best on tv. But she's lost this battle.

I Like Ellen form what I've seen of it. But Roseanne gets my vote.

Ellen. LOVE her show ~ any of them.

"Ellen" is the better show (according to TV Adam). But they're two totally different shows. Roseanne is about a family. Ellen is about a single woman hanging out with her friends.

"Ellen" is one of my favorite shows of all-time. And tomorrow I'll be buying the DVD!

I really like Ellen (especially the DVD)
but I like Roseanne a lot more.

It's hard for me to compare them. Roseanne is the better show, but I prefer Ellen's style of comedy.

By the way, barwars - have you seen any Ellen episodes after season 1? I think they're a lot better. But I'm glad you like the DVD.

Roseanne, because it is a classic about a WHITE TRASH FAMILY ( as they call them selves), what more could you ask for!!;) :D :D :wave:

Yeah, Ive seen it on WE or something like that, and I remember watching it as a family during its original run.
But never seen the first season, which I still like. (It's weird hearing Janice with a normal voice though)

I love Roseanne, I really do, it's one of my favorite shows.
I just hate the term "white trash", because, well, I hate white trash.

I hate the term white trsh too, but I have always thought it was funny. I never got why they called themselves that,I mean, in a way they were white trash,but if I were white trash I wouldn't say I was.
