I have been following Bonanza on Tvland and on Hallmark as well,
i have noticed that TvLand airs the eariler episodes of the series, i think they air every episode from 1959-1965 but only skip about 2 or 3 in between those seasons then they skip a season and skip alot of episodes until 1969 where they start from the beginning of the show... then hallmark picks up the later seasons, and the skipped episodes tvland missed. now it seems hallmark will be dropping bonanza to saturdays 7pm est.. coming up in October... and November looks pretty bleak for the show to. i have not seen the later seasons i was just wondering if tvland had any plans on aquiring those later episodes should the hallmark channel drop the show? it's pretty bad they are cutting it down to one showing a week.

'Bonanza' was issued in two different syndication packages. The eps you see on TVLand were the original package. For some reason they left out about 100 episodes, mostly from the later years. Whereas the original package started airing almost immediately after 'Bonanza' ended its network run, the missing episodes didn't turn up until the late-80's when the Family Channel started airing them as 'Bonanza: The Lost Episodes.' These are the episodes you now see on Hallmark. An interesting sidebar is the fact that there were three episodes in the 'lost episodes' package that the Family Channel refused to air, due to subject matter: the two-parter 'The Pursued,' because it dealt with the then-Mormon practice of polygamy and 'A Visit to Upright,' because it featured a painting of a naked woman. All three of these episodes have aired on Hallmark.

I started recording the episodes on hallmark but i think i started to late... i started taping in august and i only got some of season 12, all of 13 and i am missing two episodes from the final season. The sad thing now is that hallmark has taken bonanza off their weekly lineup... and put it on saturdays at 7... i am wondering if they will bring it back 5 days a week like they were doing?

The earlier episodes were better because Pernell Roberts rocked the house

i also think that the later episodes were not as good.
