View Full Version : The Healy Team episode guide
Season 1
1. International Rescue's Finest
This episode starts innocently enough with Sarah Ashley flying to Langford to meet Mark healy, his wife Becky and their friends Nicola Foster, Charli McCoy and Nathan Thomas. Though on the maiden voyage of an atomic airliner capable of flying six times the speed of sound, Sarah's flight may be delayed -- permanently -- as Dr Diablo, Mark's evil brother, has hidden a bomb in the vessel's landing gear.
Will International Rescue arrive on time, or will its first mission come to a fiery conclusion? And what about the separate plan to be implemented before its arrival, which involved landing someone on the doomed plane's wing to remove the explosive? And, perhaps the most important question of all, will Nathan ever see Sarah again?
Unfortunately, the specialized gear needed for the rescue is aboard Thunderbird 2, which has yet to arrive. If all goes according to plan, its arrival will leave a 10-minute window in which to save the plane. Will that be enough, assuming Thunderbird 2 will be on time?
While the loss of 600 lives apparently means little to Dr Diablo, the sabotage is merely the first part of a bigger plan, one that involves photographing Thunderbird I. After evading capture by the police, Dr Daiblo is seemingly in the clear -- until Numbah Six enters the picture! Will she put an end to Dr Diablo's fiendish plot? Maybe not, but she'll look good trying!
NOTE: The opening sequence uses sound effects such as the plane passengers screams.
Nathan knew Sarah in High School.
Colin Farrell plays Mark and Sarah Chalke plays Becky.
2. Substitute Creature
During her Botany class, a Langford High School teacher accidentally swallows a seed from a student's DNA-accelerated spinach plant. This has the unforeseen consequence of turning her into a 50-foot plant creature that threatens the citizens of Retroville unless the Healy Team of International Rescue can save the day.
NOTE: The Convention Center, where the toaster show is held, is actually the home of Langford's basketball team, the Langford Lions.
This episode is a parody of The Attack of the 50 Foot Woman.

Becky is a former honor student at Langford High School.
3. Special Assignment
International Rescue impart the Healy Team with a "special assignment" which is to consciously allow Mark to loose inadequately at a casino, and to place himself on their debt owners list for 5,000 credits. When this is reported to IR Headquarters, Thunderbird 86 fires the gang on the spot, for improper use of the organisations' code of conduct, and the Thunderbirds are taken away from them.
Living in a inexpensive, shabby hotel room temporarily, a pair of Dr Diablo doubles, posing as sought after gangsters, formulate a deal with the now departed Healy Team, with Mark's I.O.U. for 5,000 credits, in return for the Thunderbirds, which will be utilized to brake into the Nevada Nuclear City Complex, with an atomic incendiary device, which will obliterate the whole of North America.
NOTE: Additional scenes are inserted in this episode, showing Steel and Kramer's motorcar accident down the hillside, their Mysteronised doubling, and Thunberbird 274's briefing to the Spectrum officers, following the broadcast of Dr Diablo's latest threat. The scenes showing Dr Diablo kidnapping the Mason's Auto Garage attendant and the Mysteronised attendant sabotaging Steele's car, were added during the later stages of the development of this episode's script.
The deserted ranch house, where Sarah shoots Nathan with a stun-gun, to fool Mysteron agents Steele and Kramer, is made from using the model of the hunting lodge, seen in International Rescue's Finest.

In 1875, his great great uncle Thaddeus Dinkleburg forced the Healys to sign over their ranch to him and Virgil realises he now owns it. He goes to the house where Becky's parents live and whom Becky and Mark are visiting and tells them to get out of "his" ranch. Mark decides to help and he, Sarah, Nicola, Charli and Nathan go back to 1875 to stop Thaddeus Dinkleburg from getting the deed. Unfortunately, Thaddeus's sister takes a shining to Mark and takes him home where Thaddeus decides to make Mark a member of his gang. Mark realises he can stop the deed from going ahead if he joins the gang. He becomes an outlaw whilst trying not to get married to Thaddeus's sister. When the gang goes to the Healy Ranch, Thaddeus ties Mrs Connor (Becky's great great grandmother) to the railway line and unless Mr Connor signs over the ranch, his wife is history. Mr Healy agrees but no one has a pen. Mark lends them his invisible ink pen and saves Becky's great great grandmother with help from Nathan and the girls. They head back to the present and the invisible ink causes the writing on the deed to disappear meaning Virgil now has no claim over the house. Becky thanks Mark for his help.

Stunned, they confront the star, who turns out to be innocent . . . knowing nothing of Dr Diablo's destruction! Sky Runner goes after Dr Diablo, who tosses him into an underground mine where he is nearly toasted by a giant fireball. Only the gang themselves is able to quash the flames with . . . what else? . . . ROCK DUST.
NOTE: This is the only episode in which the gang's Thunderbirds are not in.
Sky Runner sings Dr Diablo at the end of this episode.

The team goes to the convention but Mark feels uncomfortable amidst any Friends fans. Frankie Muniz comes out to talk about Sprint and Mark and Nathan are the only ones interested. There is a riot when Frankie asks for a volunteer and when Frankie and the mayor are atatcked, the gang does a little nerd-bashing. Disappointed with his own security, the mayor trains and hires Nathna and Mark to become his bodyguards. The boys accompany the mayor everywhere around town and don't care when he is taking bribes. Nathan suddenly does care when he finds out that the mayor is paying Dr Diablo to milk rats for cheap school milk. He threatens to quit if the mayor doesn't stop this arrangement. He does and he puts Dr Diablo in jail. The evil mad scientist swears revenge but Mark is confident that he can protect the mayor. The gang takes the mayor to a musical and Dr Diablo just happens to be there with his hit men. Charli, Nicola, Sarah and Becky do everything they can to save the mayor's life but Dr Diablo crudely gets his revenge on the mayor with a baseball bat.
NOTE: This episode is the first appearence of Thunderbird 86 and her pilot Scott Anderson who says "YEEEEESSSSSSSSSS" all the time. We learn he speaks like that because he watches too much Frank Nelson sitcoms.

NOTE: When Becky, Nicola, Mark, Sarah, Charli and Nathan are looking at Madison's computer, the background says IR.
In the background in Madison's Room, there is a poster of Justin Timberlake.
