I love Gladys, she is so underrated in the music world. She is so much better than Diana Ross and Patti La Bell, and she never acted like a diva or that the world owed her something. Since this is a poll I will go ahead and pick, what I think is such a better version of an original song by Barbara Streisand "The Way We Were." My other favorite song that you didn't list is "Mr. Welfare," but the whole Claudine soundtrack with Gladys and the Pips singing on it is great. If you have never heard this version you should. dandelion wine 09-25-2004, 11:24 PM "Midnight Train to Georgia" vashti1999 09-25-2004, 11:31 PM Originally posted by Jrnygrl My other favorite song that you didn't list is "Mr. Welfare," but the whole Claudine soundtrack with Gladys and the Pips singing on it is great. :yeahthat Claudine Soundtrack      Jrnygrl 09-26-2004, 12:17 AM Originally posted by vashti1999 :yeahthat Claudine Soundtrack       Is this movie on DVD yet??? Midnight Train to Georgia is their biggest hit and deservedly so, it's my all time favorite. I also like You're #1 a lot as well as I Will Fight and Best Thing that Ever Happened. I think when a group has good relations among the members (in this case they are all blood related) it comes through in some very fine performances. They weren't on ego trips and Gladys sure doesn't come off like some diva unlike Diana Ross or Patti Labelle or Whitney Houston. vashti1999 09-26-2004, 07:22 PM Originally posted by Jrnygrl  Is this movie on DVD yet??? Released January 14, 2003. I know because I was waiting for it and bought it the day it came out. One major reason I love that movie so much is because of the music from Gladys & The Pips/Curtis Mayfield. dpops 09-27-2004, 06:47 AM Mr. Welfare.
