Seinfeld comes to mind right away. Great show, in my opinion, but I thought they could've done much better.

Cheers...Sam and Diane should've ended up together

Yeah back when I watched Seinfeld, I watched that episode, all that hype for that? I was very disappointed :(

Hm, at the time I was annoyed, but now I see how much better it was. It leaves more to the immagination, and frankly, it's good to have your audience wanting more. It also showed how Sam and Diane grew as characters. They finally learned their limitations - they just don't work as a couple.

Exactly! I sat there like, "What? This is it?! All of that just to see them sitting together in a jail cell?" Never expected that. :(

It was a show about nothing! You can't expect it to all of a sudden be about something.

True but it was about something, them in jail ;)

I read somewhere alot of critics and alot of people were very disappointed in Seinfeld's finale, don't know how true that is though, I read that after the finale aired.

I thought the Cheers finale was brilliant.
After all, if Sam & Diane had gotten together, we wouldve missed out on 2 great Frasier episodes, but more importantly.... there would be no point for a reunion.

As for Seinfeld, it was a great idea for a finale -- if only it was for a lesser sitcom. Definately could've been better.

 Yeah, that's true.. I just really thought they'd go out with a bigger bang.

I thought death wouldve been great.
I mean really.... a Seinfeld reunion will never happen, for its own good.

I was disapointed with both the finales of Sanford and Son and the Courtship of Eddie's Father. On TCEOF..I would love to see Bill Bixby's character Tom Corbett become married, and have have a lavish wedding on the beach in Malibu, instead the last show has Anne Meara and Ben Stiller...excuse mepuke:

Damn, I never even thought about that. But hell, would've been better than what they left us with. No, they'll never have one and I actually feel that's a good thing.

I Dream Of Jeannie's series finale was a little disappointing. Hurricane Jeannie where Dr. Bellows has a dream and learns about Jeannie's magic should have been the last episode but they had to show Tony the Chili King instead.

That Girl should have ended with Ann Marie and Donald getting married as they were engaged during the last season. But the last episode was of them stuck in an elevator.

exactly! Even the day after, it was still all over the place. People were acting like it was the very last TV program EVER!!
I remember you were hearing about people having "MASH" parties where they were dressing as the characters, decorating the room like "the swamp" etc.!!!

I remember there was similar hype for the "Dallas" episode "Who Shot J.R.?"

I haven't seen the Cheers finale yet, so I can't comment on it. (Even tho I know what happens!)

The Friends finale was very disappointing to me. It was way too predicitable. I think it would have been f*cking hilarious if Ross asked Rachel to marry him and she said no!

I didn't expect Seinfeld to go out with a bang, it's just that the finale was not a very good episode in my opinion.

You came to expect a lot in comparison with the rest of episodes, and this one just wasn't very funny or clever.

Just have them get into a car crash where they all die.
Or something like that

The ending to full house sucked! It would have been better if the brat couldn't remember nothing for the rest of her life!( What a great idea!)

Diff'rent Strokes
Taxi

Because they did'nt have a real finale.

Also Married with Children got a COP-OUT of a finale.
