Plus as the series went on, Jonathan started to get boring..and IMO Samantha was good throughout the series.

samantha is my fave but jonathan was adorable and funny too especially in season one!

Samantha is better! Jonathan was a sweetie pie in the beginning, but he got REALLY annoying as he got older.

Samantha all the way! If it weren't for Alyssa Milano and her role as Samantha, Who's The Boss? would have bombed bigtime. I can't stand Jonathan and the actor who played him because he was so annoying and downright boring. Jonathan should've been written out after the first season, which would leave more for Samantha to do in the show.

You are the woman, Sam. Alyssa is still as beautiful as she was back in her Who's The Boss? years. If only she was born in my hometown, she and I would have grown up together as well as gotten together. Nevertheless, I'm still crazy about her.

I think she was a better actor than Jonathan. His acting always seemed a little forced after he got older.

Sam was so cute and still is! So my vote goes to sam. Jonathan was ok but alyssa was a far better actor than danny but they are both great but sam all the way.

I wonder if Danny knew he was gay early in adolescence, or if the writers thought perhaps he was and maybe that was part of the reason they seemed to "steer clear" of writing for him the older he got. That's just something I wonder sometimes. If WTB? were a current show in original production nowadays, it doesn't seem like much of a stretch for them to write Jonathan as gay if Danny were comfortable with that.

I still wonder if his perceived sexuality had any influence on the writers not writing for Jonathan (a.k.a. "not using Danny") that much. It really would have been nice to have seen Jonathan and Samantha more balanced out. When I watch the series I sometimes wonder if Danny were jealous/frustrated over Alyssa being in the spotlight so much---with several episodes each season centering around her---or was he comfortable the way it was?


Technically the show is about Tony and Samantha's lives changing by moving in with the Bowers, and many plots did revolve around Samantha integrating into the CT school system and lifestyle of their new area. So you can't fault that, but the Bowers were very affected as well, plus, Jonathan was growing up.

Samantha. She had personality and good storylines. Whereas, Jonathan was there to remind viewers that Angela had a kid, too. He bored me.

People on the old TWoP forums have suggested that Jonathan (https://web.archive.org/web/20140405003512/http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/topic/2874131-whos-the-boss/page-12#entry13713126) was probably the show's main weak link (https://web.archive.org/web/20140405003514/http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/topic/2874131-whos-the-boss/page-4#entry5516462). And his character (https://web.archive.org/web/20140406114445/http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/topic/2874131-whos-the-boss/page-11#entry13358263) really hurt Angela's character, who actually seemed to be a better mother when interacting with Sam.
