View Full Version : Am I the Only One?

It seems like a lot of the people on this board are huge Cheers AND Frasier fans. I feel like I'm the only person here who doesn't really like Frasier (the show, I mean) I dont hate Frasier by any means, I could just never get into the show unless it was an episode where a Cheers character visits. Frasier is still one of my favorite TV characters of all time, but that really only applies to him on Cheers. Frasier (the show) just always seemed dry and boring to me. haha, dont kill me for that.

The next thing I'd like to address is the whole Lilith obsession thing. Lilith was never one of my favorite characters on Cheers. She was a very unique new kind of personality, and was pretty funny at times... but she never did much for me. I find characters like Sam (ah ha, you all saw that coming) MUCH funnier. Yet no one seems to agree with me on that. I think that Sam is by far the funniest person on Cheers (not necsilary the BEST character, but the funniest)

I suppose that it all depends on your tastes and opinions. I bet everyone reads this and thinks I'm crazy.

No, I'm sure you're not the only one.
Reading back over the years that this board has existed, one can see that the likes/dislikes tend to fluctuate. Right now we're going though an "everyone loves Lilith" phase.

There was a time where I disliked the Lilith character, but now she's pretty cool in my book. As far as Frasier goes, it is up there as one of my all time favorites.

I started the Lilith craze by saying she was the perfect woman :P

At any rate, I quite like Frasier, but it isnt on in syndication at a decent time around here

Nuh UH!
I started it with my long analyses of her character in the...I don't remember what thread. But it was that same one you mentioned... before you even introduced yourself.
Plus, I'm the sick, bedridden, mute (at least vocally), drugged up one. Pity alone automatically wins me this argument.

Pity the sick woman, biatch!

I mean...*cough cough*

Yes, um, I now have...tuberculosis too. Hence the agonized coughing.

Oh, and...

I hope you mean that, cause you've just been knighted. Sorry, we'll have to put the ceremony off for tonight, I don't think you'd want to put a sword in my hands now. I might miss your shoulder altogether. Yay for the poppies and their wonderful happy narcotic abilities!

(disclaimer: but only in legally perscribed drugs. Illegal drugs are never, never cool. Everyone who even looks at illegal drugs and considers using them will turn out a failure. Remember, drugs are bad. BAD!)

You must have missed my sarcasm.

Hey, I'm successful, aren't I?

I'm with you on the Sam thing. He was the most important Cheers ingredient, yet I've seen people on this board refer to him as one of their least favorite characters.

And Lilith definitely isn't one of my favorites on Cheers or Frasier. But I do think Bebe Neuwirth is a wonderfully talented actress.

Never happen again, right? Wasn't there a wave of Rebecca fans here once?

To be honest, the only real obsessions on this board were for Sam, Diane and Lilith. That's it.

There is no Norm phase. Our love for Norm is constant and eternal, kinda like God (if you believe in one). We just can't overexcited about Norm the way we do about other characters because, well, it just wouldn't feel right. He would disapprove. We pay homage to him "Norm style" - by sitting on our butts all day

You're not alone. I never was a big fan of the show Frasier either. I liked it when it first came out and I'd watch it and Wings every week, but after Wings ended its run in 1997, I lost all interest in Frasier.

Still better than all the crap that's on now though.

I like Frasier almost as much as I like Cheers (its definately #2)
I find it hysterical, and actually think that the "Cheers" guest star episodes aren't quite as good as the "normal" episodes. (with some exceptions)

Frasier can't be watched expecting it to be Cheers.
It's a different type of show.
Just as funny.... but very different.

As for Sam.... he was important to the show, but he is also one of my least favorite characters.

As for the best, NORM!!
Forever and always.

It's funny because I thought I was the only one who thought the way you did. But apparently I'm not... hehe. I think I only watched one episode of Frasier and decided that it wasn't going to be my favorite show. And of course you probably know that Lilith isn't my favorite character... and she never has been.

Okay, I have no idea if the stuff I'm saying makes sense, because I just woke up from a nap and I'm not 100% awake... so if it doesn't make sense, just ignore it ;)
