What did you think of the episode with Richie getting married over the phone? I thought it was kind of strange as if they couldn't get him to physically appear, they should have been at least been able to go to a sound studio and read a few lines,as it would have only taken like five mibutes of his time, and we could have at least heard his voice instead of Fonzie just having a pretend conversation.

I watched the original broadcast and I thought it was pretty lame.

Funny thing is, Ron Howard seems to be totally in touch with the Richie character and has no problem with it. I think when the episode was made it was just too soon for him to be involved.

im not sure if this is the true story but ive herd yhat the reason ron wasant in the ep. was because he had an exclusive contract with nbc at the time and nbc boss fred silverman wouldnt let him apper on any other network .gary marshall called fred silverman and asked if ron couldnt do at least a cameo in the ep but fred told him that if he let ron do it he would have to let all nbc stars freelance . for the record i didnt really like the ep. eather i thought it was stupid to have richies wedding without richie.

it woulda been nice if Ron had been able to come back for a cameo (woulda been better if they sent the entire cast to Greenland - YAY the Fonz in mukluks!!)

... but at LEAST they didn't pull another "Chuck" on him
