sorry if this has already been posted- well my friend apparently called the disney channel company and asked when the new eps were coming on and they told her it was cancelled because of so many complaints of racism! i admit there were stereotypes but dang that was my fave show! if anyone else is mad holla back:(

Meh. Why don't they cancel Kim Possible? That's like the fakest show on earth, not to be sexist, but not even superman can do what kim possible does.

Kim Possible is doing better on the channel like every other cartoon on that channel and she making three season and she not racist like the Poud Family is. and what happen to Lilo and Stitch new eps. and i think Poud Family is the stupid cartoon on that channel. and Kim Possible is not fake like the Poud Family is im glad it got cancel.

Racist? "The Proud Family"? HOW?!!

I watch "The Proud Family" on ABC every Saturday, and, when I have access to cable, during the week, and, frankly, I'm baffled how ANYONE in 21st century America can call this show "racist". If anything, this is probably the most p.c. show on the air (not that the p.c. angle is necessarilly a good thing, mind you), and, Sugah Mama, Oscar, Felix and Bobby notwithstanding, probably the least offensive program broadcast anywhere right now.

Having seen Chuck Jones's "Inky and the Minah Bird" series, Bob Clampett's "Coal Black and de Sebben Drawfs" and Walter Lantz's infamous "Scrub Me Mama With A Boogie Beat", cartoons loaded with negative ethnic stereotypes, I'm hard pressed to find any "racism" in "The Proud Family" (or, while we're on the subject, Eddie Murphy's "The P.J.'s")

Someone please post here and give me some examples of Proud Family Racism...I really want to know what some of you folks find offensive about this show!!

Yeah, they did that the first time since Disney's "Song of the South" was a banned animated film.:(

I didn't see "Proud Family" as racist, simply boring and uncreative.

Disney does own the rights to the brilliant Tokyo Pig and yet it remains unseen!

This is not a very good idea for The Disney Channel to cancel "The Proud Family". The only reason why I watch it is because of Penny,Dijonay,Zoey,Sticky,LaCienega,Duke,and even Michael. I like the episode when Penny wished that BeBe & CeCe were Penny's age.

That was HILARIOUS! I think they should make new episodes this fall!

I sort of found it racist because they only had one white person on it and she was really ugly, stupid, and dorky.

They also had a couple of ugly, stupid BLACK kids on there, too (the Gross Sisters; the Urkel-looking kid who's always trying to hit on Penny), and Zoe (or is it Zoey) is one of Penny's best friends, so other than her looks, I'm hard pressed to see how the depiction of Zoey is racist. If anything, this show is equal-opportunity in that they make fun of everybody!! (Besides, if you're missing White characters, there's always "Lizzie MacGuire" and "Kim Possible", shows that, to me, could stand a little more in the way of diversity...)

If that's the case, then Charles Schulz was racist for having Frankiln as a character. Don't forget United Featrues Syndicate tried to talk him out of adding an Afro-American kid to his beloved comic strip out of fear of a KKK backlash in the South, and he threatened to quit if they didn't leave his strip alone. And I don't think Zoe is "ugly" in any sense. Granted, this isn't my favorite show either, but the theme has kind of grown on me.

Are you kidding? Monique isn't a white girl, Wade isn't exactly a white boy, and while Ron Stoppable is, he's also Jewish. And if you take a look at the Middleton Maddog Cheerleaders, you'll find they're not all-white either.

I stand corrected.

When cartoons are cancelled they usually just stop making new episodes- they'll probably still air it for the next 5 years like Nick and Disney always do.

No, they're not all white. They're just all ditzy teenaged girls, not to mention Monique's the stereotypical funky black girl obsessed with fashion and stuff.

Well, maybe. But Monique definitley has a brain. If you remember the episode "Partners," Ron pointed out that she's right up there with Kim when it comes to her schoolwork.

I've been searching for threads on the Proud Family cartoon.

This was the first I heard regarding the reason of it's cancellation.

I wonder who these protestors are. Sure wasn't the NAACP, they nominated the Proud Family for an Image Award.

I love the Proud Family. I guess I will just be satisfied with the reruns.
