I've known since March 3rd of this year that Vicki would be coming near me again to do her "Two Woman Show". As soon as I heard she would be coming my way again, I knew I had to buy tickets to see her when they went on sale (they went on sale in May). I got my tickets the first week of June, and now...

IT'S ALMOST TIME FOR ME TO GO SEE HER AGAIN!!!!! AFTER MORE THAN SIX MONTHS OF WAITING!!!!!! I'm going to be seeing her again in only 20 more days - on October 8th. OMG. I am SOOOOO excited, I'm going to pass out or something. I remember how I was so excited when I met her the first time, I thought I was going to faint. I hope I get to meet her again- that would be TOO cool.

October 8th, here I come! Vicki AND Mama in one night- can't beat it. :D

I hope that Vicki will come back here one day too. That is just too cool! I will be thinking about you on October 8th.

October will be a busy month: Allison's Trading Spaces Family episode airs, she's seeing Vicki again, AND I might be seeing Carly Patterson! :D

Actually, I don't think my family's TSF ep is airing til November. :( I thought October, as well...

But yep, October will be an awesome month for me. :woohoo:

Well, it came and went. I'm SO freaking tired...the show ended at like 8:30 - 8:45pm and I had to wait in line for like 1/2 hour to meet Vicki...Yep, I met her. Again. But I didn't have my pic taken with her- it's a long, long story that I don't feel like explaining at 3 in the morning.

Anyhow, I got her autograph (sorry, jterry, I was advised to leave your pictures at home. It was just as well, she didn't have time to sign anything else...so I will send back your pictures) and it's on the same pic that I have already...but she signed it differently than when I got the first one...it's the Vicki/Mama "Two Woman Show" pic...I have two of that now...

She looked stunning, as usual. Her hair and skin were flawless and she was just SOOOOO sweet to me, like the last time...and she smiled a LOT. She has a REALLY beautiful smile, too. :D

I hope to eventually go see her for a third time and meet her for the third time. That would rock so much.

Oh, by the way, I wore my Vicki T-shirt (you can get it by ordering off www.vickilawrence.com) and when I came in to talk to her, she asked me where I got my shirt LOL...I got stopped a few times by other people to ask me where I got it...My shirt says "Vicki  2003" on the front and on the back is a pic of her and Mama. :)

OK, I'm awake and I feel better now...

The story is that after Vicki performed, this lady took a group of about 20 people at one time backstage...We were in the 2nd group...Anyway, they went backstage to have their picture taken with her...you weren't allowed to give them your camera to take pics with...they had a professional photographer take your picture. And they were really quick about it - when you went in to have your pic taken, that's all you could do. Go into the room she was standing in, pose for a picture with her and then leave. You couldn't talk to her at all because the photographer wanted to be quick about it and move on to the next person.

Anyway, the professional photographer's camera broke down sometime after the lady had ushered my group of 20 people backstage, so Vicki had to take out her stack of pictures she brought with her and sign autographs for the people that came in. I was one of them - I'm actually glad I didn't have my pic taken with her this time around - I was told that the picture itself would have taken 5-6 months to arrive in the mail. So, no way I was going to wait THAT long for a picture. After she started signing autographs, you could walk into the room and talk to her for a bit...You wouldn't have been able to do that. So, that was really cool. I even taught Vicki how to say "cute" in sign language. Cool, eh? :D

jterry, your pictures are in the mail now. I just mailed 'em out. There is no mail delivery tomorrow, so I think your pics will get there by Wednesday or Thursday.

Hey!
I'm jealous that you've gotten to meet her twice and see the show twice. I saw it back in July and it was amazing! I regret that I did not get the opportunity to meet her. Maybe next time. :)

Hehe, yes Mama's Family is probably my second favorite sitcom of all time, right behind the Golden Girls. And of course I love The Carol Burnett Show. We went to see Vicki at the Grand Hotel in Biloxi, MS. It was one of those things you do in your life that you NEVER thought you'd be doing. Never in a million years would I have thought that I'd get to see not only Vicki in person, but Mama as well. It's really a great show. I hope to see it again the next time she's down in these parts. I particularly enjoyed it when she sang the actual lyrics she wrote for the Mama's Family theme song. Don't happen to know where I can get a copy of those lyrics do you? I don't remember much of it, but I figure they have to be some place online.

Ah, yes. ;) So many people I know like both GG and MF...Which is a good thing too, because both are great sitcoms! I always found it funny how Rue & Betty both left MF to be on GG.

I know exactly what you mean about it not being one of those things you thought you'd be doing. Cool, eh? I thought the same way the first time I saw her...It was just the coolest thing. I came, I saw, I laughed (hysterically, of course), I cried (from laughing so hard) and I had a great time. :)

Yep, I loved it when she sang the original lyrics to Mama's Family! That was so cool! I don't remember what the lyrics were, though...I took like two video clips of her singing the MF theme song...BUT I didn't turn on the sound when I took them...So I have video, but no sound, so you can't hear her sing. :bonk:

By the way, I once found a place that had the lyrics to MF...it was on a site with lyrics to other TV shows...but it was one of those paying sites. *le sigh*

yeah, i saw that site too. I wasn't about to pay for them. Hopefully I'll get to see her again and pay closer attention next time.

I've always wanted the lyrics, too! Unfortunately, all I remember from the song is, "East is East and West is West, but home is where I like it best". I know that's not much help. :)

If I had remembered to turn on the audio on my camera, I definitely would've shared with you guys! It sucks how we all can't remember the exact lyrics...:( :cuss:

LMAO! That is the only part I can remember too! How funny. Between the two of us that's the only line we can remember.

I remember the first part: "Well, I've been all around the world, and I've seen most everything. Rich Oil Tycoons Big Movie Stars......."

I have this on an audio file at home. I send it to you all when I get there.

I don't even know if I'll be seeing her for a 3rd time. I'll just have to wait til she updates her site with newer tour dates. She will be performing at two different venues, both 6 hours from me - one in January '05 and another in August '05, but there is no way I will be going because I have school both times she is performing. *sigh*

I got to see her on a Friday because I have no Friday classes this semester and the venue she performed at was only 1.5 hours from me.
I'm bumping up this thread because I found out about two weeks or so ago that Vicki is performing at a venue VERY near me (30-45 minutes away) on August 27, so I will be going to see her for a 3rd time in less than three weeks. The good thing is that she performs on a Saturday, so I don't have to miss school or anything. I'm very excited! :D

My 20th birthday is on August 16 -- a week away now -- and the tickets are a b-day present to myself.
