They have had so many other kickass albums (especially in the Bon Scott era... Brian Johnson has been rather hit and miss) but yet 9 out of 10 people will only know Back In Black when you say their name. And IMO, Highway To Hell and Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap were superior records. I guess I just like Bon better. Nighthawk76 09-18-2004, 01:23 PM John, though I do think Back In Black is really their best album, I was concered that it would recieve all the votes and other very worthy albums would not pick up any votes. I think that Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, Let There Be Rock, Highway To Hell, and For Those About To Rock We Salute You all deserve votes. I even really like 1985's Fly On The Wall, though many consider it to be a weaker album from the band. Though I voted for Back In Black, these other albums I mentioned I also regard as classics. I actually considered voting for For Those About To Rock..., just so Back In Black would not go away with all the votes. After all, the title track to For Those About To Rock...is probably my favorite AC/DC song, I love the Mutt Lange production that features the canons at the end with Brian Johnson shouting "Fire!". I am glad that you voted for Highway To Hell. I think that one may be the best produced of all AC/DC's albums, it has the blusy AC/DC sound but is also really polished, and I would regard it along with Def Leppard's Hysteria as featuring Lange's best work in the studio. Do you happen to have a favorite song off of Highway To Hell? Mine would have to be "Touch Too Much" with those great Bon Scott lyrics and one heck of a guitar solo. For Those About To Rock (We Salute You) is THE definitive AC/DC song. I like thier earlier 70s stuff and the latest album I have heard I like alot is thier 1983 album... 1960'sTVfan 10-17-2022, 06:30 PM AC/DC's best albums were in the 70's when Bon Scott was the singer. After Brian Johnson took over as the singer, the first two albums with Brian are good, then after that the albums all started sounding the same, nothing special. |
