Actor Macaulay Culkin arrested for drug possession in Oklahoma

Former child star Macaulay Culkin was arrested on drug charges Friday, authorities said.

The 24-year-old actor, best known for his role in the movie, "Home Alone," was taken into custody on complaints of possession of a controlled dangerous substance without a valid prescription and possession of marijuana, according to the Oklahoma County Sheriff's office.

Culkin was jailed Friday on $4,000 bond. A jailer declined to release details of Culkin's arrest, and it was not clear whether he had a lawyer.

It also was not clear why Culkin was in Oklahoma City or whether he was traveling alone.

In Los Angeles, Culkin's publicist, Michelle Bega, declined to comment.

I wasn't either when I heard. He's always been a little...off, in my opinion, so it wasn't like this big shock.

My sister and I were just watching Home Alone 2 last night and I was telling her how he's a druggie, but I hadn't heard anything about him recently...

Sadly, drug-addiction seems to be a major pitfall of becoming so famous at such a young age. It happened to Drew Barrymore, it happened to River Phoenix (R.I.P.), so I'm not surprised that Culkin has followed that same path.

I'm sad to hear it. It seems that becoming so famous, so young, did him no favors. I recall he had major problems with his father too.

I hope he overcomes his substance abuse problem. He always seemed like a sweet kid, and in the few adult interviews I saw, he seemed like a nice guy.

He does seem to be a nice, decent guy. But there's always that little comment that he makes or something that tells you there's something wrong. I've read and seen interviews with him and his brothers, and that pain and fear that they felt with their dad seems to still be there. I think that alone, can make anyone go in the wrong direction. Let's just hope Kieran and Rory Culkin don't go the same route.

It's weird though, because their father wants so desperately to be involved in their lives and I guess he feels like he did nothing majorly wrong. He feels that he was just trying to do the right thing. So, both sides have been hurt in that situation. Kit Culkin doesn't seem to be that bad of a guy but the media didn't help his image at all. And that, I think, affected the family in a tremendous way...
