I forgot to tell you that I could tell that Shirley was a funny character on What's Happening because the studio audience was going crazy as soon as she appeared on Good Times.

How about Michae's Great Romance?
Man, Ralph Carter went into overtime in his acting ability to act like he is attracted to a girl:lol:

What confused me about that episode was how Michael was in a relationship with a pretty girl in he Big Move and not nervous at all. Then of a sudden he is nervous around some girl who was not as attractive as the girl he was with in the Big Move. Which brings me to another question. If the Evans moved to Missippi where was the girl he was going to break up with? Shouldn't have still been around?-LOL

She was nothing like the Shirley character from What's Happening in that episode. They had her playing an EXTREMELY DUMB role

I like part 2 of the episode where James died the best. The dramatic tension was very real in that more so than any other ep that year.

That scene when Florida slams the punch bowl down and screams Damm Dam Damm was so real. It was almost like it wasn't acting anymore. I bet a lot of people at work the nex morning on Sept 30, 1976 was talking about that scene all day.

Maybe she was cursing for real, because of the fact that she was going to have to interact with Walker alone without Amos being there.

I read in a 1975 Ebony that Jimmie Walker didn't have a close relationship with any of the cast members. Walker said he wouldn't have walked past any of the cast members if he saw them on the street but just wasn't close to any of them. That sounds ODD.

Actually it does not surprise me; Walker was the "Star" of the show, with his ubiquitious catch phrase of the day "Dy-no-mite!", that would make the other actors on the show, especially Rolle and Amos, to feel threatened or to feel that Walker was not worthy of such attention because he was a novice actor at the time.

The guy who locked himself in the bathroom actor Ralph Wilcox whom I met back in 92' when he was in Tampa filming the Burt Reynolds movie "A Cop and A Half". He came to my school to talk with us about the movie and other shows he has done and attended our church while he was in town. I met him again when he returned to Tampa and came to one of our youth church meetings which was about a year later. He is a very nice man. He took both of his sons with to Tampa while he flimed "Cop". I

always liked his work. He was funny as "Hinkley" on one episode of "Maude". He and his girlfriend were trying to scheme to get money from Maude to pursue a non existent singing career and they tried to get over on Maude and Walter with some awful revised version of Yankee Doodle song they created and of course, Maude was trying to believe them while Walter wasn't buy their act. If was funny. They sang the lyrics to the tune "Rockin' Robin."

Asides from the "Warlords" ep. when Florida had that getting ready to knock somebody out, I loved it TAMU and Shirley Hemphill held up the Evans family. When the gun fell to the floor and Wilona picked it up and yelled "freeze", I was rolling.
