Does anyone here know who performed the theme song for Sanford and Son? I'm talking about the original from the show....is it even available to purchase on CD?

The theme song is called "The Streetbeater" by Quincy Jones. The full length version (it runs about 3 mintues) can be found on one of Quincy Jones' many Greatest Hits CDs. The shorter version can be found on TV's Greatest Hits Vol. 2: 70's & 80's.

Yep - & I for one would love to see it performed live!

I liked the theme song. It was funky and hip in its own way. A friend of mine said the song sounds too depressing, but he's not a fan of S&S.
