I am curious to know how you all discovered this message board. For me, I use to have alot of spare time to surf the internet at work. One day, I just wanted to look up info on spinoffs and stumbled upon SO. That was in January of 2002. It took me about a month to have the guts to post something on the message boards. Before then, all I did was browse TJ's online websites for sitcoms like Diff'rent Strokes and The Facts of Life.

I honestly have no idea. I must've been surfing in my sleep when I registered here in 2002.

I "registered and ran", so to speak. Yesterdayland was still around and I spent much of my online time over at YL (I'd been visiting YL since 1999 but registered to use the boards in 2001). When YL went down under in March 2003, I started surfing around, came upon the Mama's Family section on Tim's TV Showcase. There was a link to the MF board here, so I came back, but really I lurked for about 1.5 months before I finally started posting again in May 2003. :D

When Dana Plato died, there was a link to Todd's Diff'rent Strokes site beneath her CNN obit. I checked it out, and it brought me to the rest of this site. I was a regular visitor/lurker, until one day a few years later, I registered when someone on the board needed the lyrics to the Roseanne theme song.

The rest is history.

I was looking for Gilligan's Island pictures and I came across the GI part of the site. I printed off a few pictures and my cousin found them and went, "Why do you go to a website called Sitcoms Online?" I had been unaware it was called that, but I was like eh, pictures. Then at the bottom of the page one day, it was like, "Who's better - Ginger or Mary Ann? Tell us at the message board!" So I went and posted and I posted a bit there and really liked it. Then a year or 2 later, I remembered it (when we got our own computer) and came back and re-registered. And I've been here ever since.

I was looking for WKRP in Cincinnati info, and possibly a way to obtain the episodes.

I don't remember if I ended up here through Google or Yahoo groups or through a WKRP website.

I actually first posted on the What's Happening board answering a question about the Doobie Brothers episodes.

i was searching on google for something- dont remember what- and found this, around like May 18th, May 19th, and registered under #1Tiffanifan and only posted on the SBTB boards, and then the next day i was looking around and discovered chit chat. then a few days later i re-registered under SBTBPrincess715 and stayed from May 2003-August 2003 then left, then came back in May 2004 cuz i had like forgotten about this place and school was hard, junior year was harsh, but then i came back for 2 and a half months and then left again right after i changed my name to xoxMizzBrodyxo, and then a few months later i started missing this place so came back and re-registered under this name, and on this name i've been here for like almost 2 weeks

I was looking for TV stuff in general and found a link to a site called Sitcoms.com. I had been on for a while that night, so I figured I'd just come back the next day and check out the site. The next day, I must have forgotten the link because I typed in www.SitcomsOnline.com and here I came. I was amazed because of the "Alice" page and then I found the boards and registered and after a month or so of not posting, just lurking, I started posting a lot (on the Three's Company - Fan Fiction board) and then I started branching out in all the other boards, and here I am, three and half years and over 3000 posts later...

I think I was searching for info about Family Ties, and found a link to the F.T. board. It was either that, or I was looking to buy tapes, and was directed to the tape trading board. Either way, I'm glad I found this site.

I discovered that TJ had a memorial site for Dana Plato. I had met Dana some years back. I was upset, to say the least, when she died. Eventually I wrote a story about time she and I had spent together, and about Dana in general. I sent the story to Todd since he was so obviously someone who cared a lot about her. I was quite sure that he would be interested to read what I'd written. That's what lead me to Sitcomsonline.

That's interesting Kitt! So what and where were the circumstances that you had with her? Yes, hers is a tragic story.:(

Dude directed me here not long ago, I was looking for a "well rounded discussion forum" and I joined and had no idea I had to love sitcoms, I have enjoyed a lot of sitcoms in my life, but have a lot of other interests too. All in all, it's been a "trip"...

I was looking for information about The Courtship of Eddie's Father back in 2001 and found what I was looking for on this site.

Initially, I was just a lurker. I didn't become a member of Sitcomsonline until 2003 when I developed a crush on Ron Glass and became a HUGE fan of the show Barney Miller and wanted to discuss this sitcom with other fans.

I cannot believe I have been a regular member of this site for 18 years:)

I came here back in late of 2000 for The Facts of Life. It was airing on N@N and wanted to chat with other fans about it. I've been here for so long that when I first came here, I would post as a guest because that was an option. You didn't have to be a registered member in those days to chat on here. The ability to have avatars is what made me register though  I remember avatars and pictures in your signatures were a big deal back in those days. This group of members known as The Happy Days Mafia started it with these really cool banners in their signatures for their random threads. I can't believe how many years ago that's been.
