What's your favorite thing about SO?

IMO, what separates this message board from others I've been to are the people here. For the most part, everyone's friendly. Everyone has a distinct personality, too, which makes it a lot more interesting around here.

The people. And we all communicate which each other as if we know them. Its kind of like a village instead of a message board :lol:

In all honesty, the thing I like best about this place is that it allows me to get a different perspective on things. Americans and Brits always seem so different and far-removed from each other. But talking to you guys here has made me realise that that is not always necessarily the case - we do have a lot of things in common.
Also, I love how you guys - the old-schoolers, anyway - can remember me from waaay back and actually give a sh#t about my opinions. I was really genuinely touched to know that y'all missed me when I was gone.
And being the only Scot here makes me feel like some kind of VIP. My fragile ego needs some boosting and being the official Scottish member of SO does the trick nicely! :D

My favorite thing on Sitcoms Online are my friends and my favorite boards.

The people, the friends, the smilies.

Honestly, I'm gonna sound like everyone else, but it's the people. On IDF, I have maybe 3 or 4 CLOSE friends. Everyone else is just a teeny or not very nice. On here, there's at least 20 of you who I'd consider good friends.

Again, I'll compare to IDF... it seems more like... a place to JUST stay on topic and JUST talk about AI and JUST do stuff with that.

Here, I can talk to y'all about anything.

Hmm, I like alot of things about SO. For one, its quite active, but its not insane. The layout is perfect, ditto with the colors of the board. The entire look of the place is the best of any board to me.

I also like how the people here have such diverse interests. It's great to have such a variety. Gotta love the crazies that come along too, like RainMan. They make the place extra interesting. :lol:

The most important part is how many friends I've made here, I've made more friends at SO than I've made any other place online, hands down.

It's great, too, how it isnt so "Totally on-topic". There's set topics people discuss on the forums, yet nobody goes crazy or even cares when someone goes off-topic. The freedom to do that is awesome. SO is also very friendly, compared to most boards out there.

Overall, this is definetly the greatest place online. I could search for years and never find a better. Even if I did, I'm so used to this place, because its so perfect, it'd be a trial getting used to a new place.. When I think of message boards, SO is what comes to mind. It would be hard getting used to posting as much at any other board.

I don't have any friends at IDF but like you said almost everyone there is a teeny, I feel out of place, but here at SO everything just seems to gel together.

I don't have too many friends outside of home. 97% of my friends are here. If it wasn't for SO, I don't know what I would do.

I've known people here who are gay/les and I must say that these people are better to talk to and get to know than those who hate them.

Some people think that if they spend too much time here or anywhere online, they feel that they don't have a life. To me, this is my life.

Todd is the friendliest and most lenient message board administrator out there. Whenever someone feels he is being too harsh or too strict, I beg to differ. He doesn't ban easily like most other admins. I've been here for over three years and these are the best message boards to go to. There isn't any other place that matches SO.

Yeah, I forgot to say that 100% of my friends are online, and about 99.9% of my real online friends are from here, SO.

Same as everybody else I guess. I've been a member for a long time, and I know a lot of people and they know me. I can talk to you guys about anything (except politics) :)

What I like best about this place is my really good friends who always make me feel good, the wide variety of things to do, and that this is an all around fun and excellent place.:D

Well said!! I'm a member of... 5? Yeah, 5 other message boards, and there's only one I post actively on other than this one, and not even close to as much as I do on here.

I agree. IDF is kind of...well boring. I only post on the Camile forum for the most part. Love your avatar btw.

But yeah, the people at here are so diverse and it just makes everything really intersting. So, I think the people are the best part about SO.

Eh, well I met one of my best friends there, so I wouldn't call it boring. Plus I enter a TON of the contests on the pictures board. I just started posting on the Camile forum today (Amy_Adams_Kicks) and thankies :D

My favorite thing is the people at thw WTB? board. They make me feel like I'm important, and they don't get angry with me for complaining about my many issues.

Sitcoms Online is just.. awesome. I was gone for two years, and I finally made my way back. I just couldn't stop myself. You guys welcomed me back with open arms. <3 I may miss a lot of the old people, but I just need to realize that they're gone and probably not coming back. I don't know who many of you are, but I'm starting to learn some names.

I like that TJ allowed me to become moderator of the Square Pegs board. I feel like I am doing my little part in keeping that wonderful show alive. It is also a great pleasure to have people around here like AKA and BuffySlayer who have such great taste in music, 'cause so few people do. And I love to write about pop culture entertainment, and I get to do that here.

I've actually never been much of an internet person. Since I registered here, I've been spending more and more time on the internet...I don't know if that's a bad thing or a good thing :crazy:.

Same here :lol: Now I'm addicted to this place.

As a lot of you have been saying, I'd have to say the people. This is the one place online I feel I can come to and post whatever I need to say and you guys will be there for a comforting word, a good laugh, or even a healthy debate. I've taken some breaks from this site but whenever I come back, you guys are all still here and it's like no time has passed.

The great posters make this such a kick ass place :D

I love this place, I'm addicted to it, I only post at two other boards almost as much as I do here, but this is my second home so to speak :lol:

I love that people here make you feel welcome, and that when you disagree/fight with someone they don't hold grudges :)

I've gotta say TJ is the greatest, he's always willing to listen when I have a complaint about something, there are ALOT of boards where the admin just doesn't care.

i like the fact that its not mean sprited here and the fact that we all seem to get along and as time passes we all begin to think about each other even when we are not here that dosent usally happen at other sites but jt allows that to happen here because there is such a wide range of topics you always have a chance to meet people that you have things in common with ive said it before but i will say it again this is the best meeting site on the net.

Since I am a fan of classic television shows that a lot of my friends have never heard of; it is fun to come on SO and discuss the programs that I love, and people know what I am talking about.
Also there are a lot of special people here on SO, that I consider to be "friends":)

Most people here are so nice and its a gr8 place to make friends

This is a great place to share the ups and downs in your life. I love the jokes, the stories, the shared information. This is a great group of people.

I love it here, I haven't been here as long as other people, but I feel like I've been here for years. I love the people here, they're so much fun to talk to and just fool around with and everything. I love talking about TV shows that some people have never heard of, or that they don't watch often. Three's Company brought me here, and it's so great there because we talk about everything Three's Company related, even like a face someone made or a little thing like that. We're like a family here, and I don't ever want to leave!

The Facts Of Life and Chit-Chat boards!

I've always been a fan of classic tv shows and so I was very happy I found SO. For the first 3 years I was just a lurker here then last year I finally registered. I'm glad I did. The boards are great and I've met a lot of good friends that I've enjoyed talking to. Its one of the few places where I can talk about old tv shows and such without people looking at me like I'm crazy. :lol: TJ is a great administrator and I thank him for creating the site-not just the boards but the whole site. It really is a great place.

Whether we get on each other's nerves or not, we still seem to give a damn at the end of the day. There are so many different kinds of people spread across the boards, so many unique individuals.. and that's something I've loved seeing since day one. There's always something going on to spice up one's day, no matter how bored or tired or frustrated you are with it. I can talk about a particular show and chances are, someone will know what I'm talking about. Can't say that happens too often outside of the boards. I'm always learning from one person or another, whether they realize it or not.

Last, but not least.. I've made a lot of friends here that I consider very special and they've come to mean a lot to me over the last year. They all accept me with my quirks and goofiness, and I love them for that. :lol:

One of the things I really love about this site is I can SCAN THE BASES AND NOT WORRY ABOUT BEING CUT DOWN FOR IT!!

I swear people have some pretty stupid things they make a big deal about...
