Questions that go unanswered, mysteries that go unsolved. . .
In regards to question #10 - my guess is that since "Checking In" did so poorly in the ratings, CBS decided that viewers would not be interested in another Florence spinoff. Besides, Marla Gibbs already had "227" in the works for when the Jeffersons ended.

I meant why didn't she get her own spinoff in 1985 instead of 1981.

:o well you're right, a Florence spinoff probably would have done better if it had come on after the Jeffersons ended. But then we wouldn't have "227" if that had happened. Solomon, did you ever get a copy of "The Strays" or "Every Night Fever"? I know you were looking for those episodes several months ago.

10.Why wasn't the Florence character spinned off after the Jeffersons ENDED? 1. Sherman developed it and made it his own
2. Maybe the limosuine George asked for didn't come as expected.
3. Mike Evans was indeed in the opening credits of the 1st season,he was 3rd in the credits after Isabel and Sherman.
4. There was an episode in the 1976-1977 season where Florence is about to be evicted from her apartment and she is seen in the kitchen crying to Louise and Louise asks her to stay in their apartment, and George objects at first, and then that's where Florence is wearing her Aunt Jemima costume begging him for her to stay.
6. Mr. Bentley had a bad back.
7. Because she was George's mother, and they wanted to someone to counterpart with Louise.
8. Because Mike and Gloria had moved out of the Jefferson's house so they had to have a story about George and Louise coming back when someone wanted to buy the house.
10. Dr. Jazz answered that question for you.

.
I remember Florence in the Aunt Jemina costume in a year 5 episode where George criticized her so she sarcastically put in on and was acting like a slave. The scene appears in the main titles for years 5-8. Florence did move in to the Jeffersons' home early in year 3, I think just after Lionel moved out.

Braves2004, I wasn't looking for anyone on this board to answer this questions, I was just stating what i would like to find out one day. I should have been more clear but i was just really looking for other people to discuss what they want to know. But i know no S,O. member can answer any of my questions nd if they can i would lke them to state th source they got the info from. So that's what i should have said in the beginning of this thread.
