It was pretty much internet surfing and channel flipping for me. I heard the show was good and then I started watching it on N@N.

I actually don't remember what exactly drew me in to the show, but I remember looking up to Sam so much and really loved her cool 80s clothes. I remember always wanting to dress like her in the late 80s/90s when WTB? was airing in syndication!! :D

At first it was the fact that, here was this widowed father who had to take care of his daughter.. as the show went on and he and Samantha sort of became a part of Angela's family, all of that drew me in. The chemistry between he and Angela was what kept me watching each week.

I first saw it on ABC Family when they first aired it and loved the character Mona. She always made me laugh.

The episode "First Kiss" and technically the episode "It Happened One Summer"

See, I wasn't watching the marathon because I thought the show was a complete joke, but I was flipping through the channels and couldn't find anything on. So I ended up watching "It Happened One Summer" Then, after the marathon was over, I had my television on N@N and it came on and it was "First Kiss". Tony and Angela's chemistry pulled me into the show and I was determined to watch it and find out if they got together... kind of like Sam and Diane on Cheers.

I thought I'd give it a try when they had the marathon.Tony Danza's acting skills got me to like it.He's a great actor. He was great in WTB?,Angels in the Outfield, etc.

Mona
If it weren't for her I don't think I would even watch the show.

Ever since it came to N@N, I've been watching it on and off. But lately I started tuning in more regularly, so I went and got season 1 on DVD. I guess you could say I'm a fan now hehe. The biggest thing for me is Tony and Angela. You can't help but think sometimes, "Just get together already!" But I suppose that's the fun of the show.

I agree with Barwars, too, about Mona. She's one of the best supporting characters I've ever seen. She just cracks me up!

Yeah, thats what I say sometimes."Just get together and stop faking that you don't have feeling for eachother"

Oddly enough, my dad got me into the show. I didn't know he'd been watching it, until I came home early from work one day about 15 years ago. At the time, WTB reruns were on TBS in the late afternoon. Turns out my 60-something dad had major hots for Judith Light! Eventually, it became an after-work ritual...I'd come home and unwind with a cup of coffee or a drink, and we'd watch the TBS broadcast and then our local UHF station's broadcast of the show. Eventually, it got to where TBS showed it twice in the early evening, with a break between the two shows, and our UHF station showed it during the time TBS didn't. One memorable night, we watched the syndicated broadcasts, then the regular prime time episode. Later that night, there was a Lifetime movie on starring Judith Light that dad just had to watch. Sadly, the next evening he suffered a heart attack. I still remember talking to him in the ICU...I tried to keep the mood upbeat, telling him that the previous night's Judith Light marathon was just too much for his old ticker. He laughed, and that's when I knew he'd be OK. (He's still around and watching WTB on Nick, by the way.)

Boy, some of you people sure know how to make a guy feel old. From the sound of this thread, a lot of you started watching WTB in reruns. Wasn't anyone alive when it was on ABC every Tuesday night (right before Growing Pains and Moonlighting). I'm only 27. That's too young to feel old.:mrt:

I don't really remember when exactly... I just know I never saw the show until the re runs started.
I liked it for two reasons. The obvious, Tony and Angela
Second... I was transfered to the west coast years back.... so when I saw the opening footage of to the very first show, Tony leaving in his old van with Sam to CT. the Merrit Parkway and exit off to Fairfield and Westport and falling leaves I was hooked because I grew up in that area and was very home sick.;)

I hope the rest of the seasons will come out someday on DVD... and I hope they bring it back to Hallmark or Lifetime or some network... Perhaps Pax... now the 'i' network

I actually started watching it by mistake. I think it was like a year ago I wanted to tape something on N@N but instead by accident I taped WTB so I gave it a try and I liked it. The only bad thing was I think it was a couple of days later they stopped airing it.

Nothing in particular. I watched more sitcoms in those days and it just happened to be on. And I'd remembered Tony Danza from Taxi. It was a pretty good show.

I started watching it because I liked Tony in Taxi and thought he'd be good in
this show as well.

I remember being around 8 years old and watching and taping this show every weeknight on TBS. I've loved it ever since. I was first exposed to the show with a good memory this way. They used to air hour-long blocks each of Saved By the Bell, Growing Pains, and Who's the Boss? from 5:05-8:05 PM (yeah, back when they still had "Turner Time") in a package called "TBS Light." Great times. They also aired it on Sunday mornings for a while after their cartoon block. I probably watched a few episodes originally on ABC also but I really don't remember for sure.

I didn't get to see as many episodes on N@N so I'm glad that I can see it on ION now. It reminds me of the old days when I watched the hour-long blocks on TBS and I enjoy the show as much as I always have.

Definitely the chemistry between Tony and Angela. Tony Danza didn't look too bad either. ;)
