Wow! Thanks for posting that - I was looking through the TV Guide today and saw that only Kelsey Grammer is nominated for Lead Actor in a Comedy Series - I want him to win...I'll be taping the show, hee hee!

Anthony LaPaglia is nominated for Lead Actor in a Drama Series - I want him to win, too!:D

Here's a link I found:

I watched David Hyde Pierce on SNL today! He did his opening monologe and it was a song about Kelsey Grammer! Cracked me up! I'll have to post the lyrics sometime!

Good!! You saw that get-up he had on... that reminded me of "Midwinter's Nights Dream" where Niles was dressed as a pirate!

If you want to get technical.... Frasier would be considered the better show.

Great night at the Emmys for Frasier and company....
but even better is that The West Wing lost "Best Dramatic Series" -- it almost tied Frasier for the 5 year streak.

Congratulations David Hyde Pierce and Kelsey Grammer!!!!

That was a great awards show! I loved the tribute they made to the shows that went off the air, and then the second tribute that Gary Shandling did for all the times he lost to KELSEY/Frasier!

OK, so I taped the pre-show - 12:30p yesterday they went behind the scenes with Frasier - showed past interviews with Jane Leeves - Grrreat!:D Then I taped the RED CARPET stuff - my friend kept calling me every 5 minutes to say, "OMG, it's Megan Mullally! Are you watching?" HAHAHA! Then I'd yell in her ear on the phone when I saw Kelsey and David! OK, after that was the EMMYs - taped it - then I taped the post Emmy show and DHP was one of the first interviewed!!!!!:):):) I was so happy for him! When DHP won, I jumped up out of my chair and screamed! The same with Sarah Jessica Parker and Kelsey Grammer!:D (I wished I were there, too - they'd be like "WHOA" if they heard me, haha! ) ;)

After the Emmys I popped in....you guessed it - Frasier!!!

It was a fun NIGHT!

But I have to say one more thing - David Hyde Pierce's acceptance speech - first off, the poor man's jaw dropped - he SO didn't expect to win! He got up there and said something like, "This is not how I would have done it, but..." then it was "uh" city for him! But I loved when he said something like, "when I was in sitcom school they taught us about being on hit sitcoms, but they never told us how hard it would be to say goodbye." I thought that was sweet http://img11.photobucket.com/albums/v34/TroyandLindseyFan/cry_4.gif

I have to admit, my eyes were a bit misty after the show...

"They say comedy on TV is changing. When it changes back, call me"

I thought it was great that both Kelsey and David won their 4th Emmys.
I loved it. I wish I taped it.

I'm so glad I taped it! Now I'm going to be editing the pre-show and post show...DHP was interviewed at about 8:10p PST and the guy that talked to him asked, "Do you feel taller now since you've won?" And DHP responded, "No, but this table is making me feel short."

I wasn't too happy that the guy asked all the other actors "What parties are you going to?" but he didn't ask that to DHP! All he said was, "Everyone wants you at their party, so I better let you go." *sigh* I was curious of where he was going. :(

David Hyde Pierce has always been hush-hush about his personal life. It seems the press honors that.

Besides Kelsey.... they all seem to be.
Whereas the cast of Cheers has been practically in your face for the past 20 years.

Oh dear! If I see one more Kirsty Ally joke on Jay Leno, I'm going to SCREAM!

Ted Danson was on Kraig Kilborn...boring show - but TD was talking about some movie he did where he had to get naked - he said he liked it...http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v34/TroyandLindseyFan/nononono.gif

wait a minute, Laura Linney also won an emmy for best guest starring actress in a comedy. So isn't that 42?

That was one of the "creative" Emmies.
Meaning -- not as important. It still counts, its just that we knew about it about a week ago.
