Absolutely fascinating

Maybe you should take that up with them on amazon.com, ya think? If I cared enough about other people's thoughts on music I like, I'd be here all day every day. Just enjoy what you enjoy and stop being interested in how people on amazon feel about it.

exactly!! many reviews on Amazon have over 20-30, even over 100 reviews.

For example, of 125 reviews of Prince's Purple Rain, one "reviewer" gave it one star and talked about how overrated Prince and the album in particular are, and how Prince's "fall from popularity" (this was written pre-Musicology) was well-deserved, and that the music on this album is hopelessly dated. Because 2 people out of 125 on Amazon gave the album 1 star doesn't automatically mean that "Purple Rain is a hated album".

No matter what or who you like... you're ALWAYS going to find someone who doesn't like it. It's a fact. Don't worry because one critic on Amazon hated a particular song. If they were saying "anyone who likes 'Thinking About My Ex' on Damita Jo is a moron and idiot with bad taste", maybe get offended, but you're never going to find a song or album that is universally liked. Even most of the Beatle albums on Amazon have one star reviews.

Throughout the years I've listened to music I've realized that you can't go by reviews of songs written anywhere. There's a lot of songs on that list I really like: Madonna-"Physical Attraction", Madonna-"Jimmy Jimmy", Madonna-"Love Makes The World Go Round", Madonna-"Dear Jessie", Whitney Houston-"I Will Always Love You".

It seems to me that you are a follower who blindly goes along with what everyone likes. Don't you have your own mind? :( (this is a frown) I have a feeling that you won't buy Damita Jo from Janet Jackson becuase it was voted her worst album by many fans and critics, even though she seems to be your favorite singer.

Not everyone's like you. Not everyone listens to what other people care about or don't care about. So how dare you say, "Nobody's gonna listen to this song after almost 25 people gave it a bad review?"  Just because you act like a brainwashed android who only listens to other people's reviews on music, doesn't mean that everyone is like that. So, let me ask you a question. If I say, Gloria Estefan's "Let It Loose" is the worst album I have ever heard, are you going to turn away from it and ignore the album?  You have got to think and start having your own opinion!

Bart, I kind of know what you mean, but no one's gonna make me wanna buy Just Be Free by Christina Aguilera, a demo that wasn't even supposed to be released, and was released against Christina's wishes and doesn't show off her best voice at all. She even wrote a disclaimer saying this. She even tried to sue them, but they won. Look me in the eye and tell me that you would buy this demo. You should see its price. 18.00 plus tax! For something that was released corruptedly against the singer's wishes!

What the f-ck?

Refraining from buying an album because the artist doesn't want released is WAY different than not buying it just because other people don't like it. there's a difference between respect and conformity.

Thanks for sharing that list, by the way. The entire board is interested in which songs you like that got bad reviews.

Bart, tell me the truth and say that you will buy Nsync's Never Enough Dvd/VHS. EVERYONE on Amazon.com hated it because it was an unauthorized biograghy and didn't even show real footage of NSYNC, just a few photos and had people talking about what they like about NSYNC and singing their favorite songs from them. They basically said, "I like Justin Timberlake because he is so cute" over and over in some parts(Different girls) The highest review on this DVD/Vhs was two stars.. The majority was 1 star. Would you want to buy/watch/rent this movie after everyone who reviewed it gave it less than three stars? Would you like to get this movie after everyone unaimously hated it on a reviewing website?Would you like to get this movie after reading the description on the video?
